  • Have You Been Inside the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile?

I sat in the driver's seat of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. Over ten years ago a neighbor, four years younger than me, won a singing contest for Oscar Mayer hot dogs at an Orioles baseball game. More Here...
  • Härth Review and Bacon Jam

Last week, my friends and I went to härth, a swanky restaurant located in the Hilton headquarters in Northern Virginia.  Although the restaurant is actually located inside the Hilton Hotel, they "want to be treated as a real restaurant", according to the chef in this article.  After my visit, I'm completely sold. More Here...
  • Easy Donuts Recipe

This is a guest post by Kirbie's Cravings.

A few weeks ago I came across a super easy made-from-scratch donut recipe. It claimed to take only fifteen minutes and doesn’t require yeast or resting time. I love donuts but they can be so time consuming to make. It’s usually easier to go out and buy one. But this recipe seemed so simple I had to try it.

And it really is that easy. These came out light and fluffy like just fried donut holes should taste.

I was watching a dvd with the family and didn’t want to disturb them with my mixer. This recipe just requires you to mix the dough quickly by hand in a bowl. It took only a few minutes to prepare and then the donuts were ready to be fried.More Here...

  • Mmm Pistachio Cake

My mother uses one of her days off every week to venture to bakeries and restaurants on her list of places to go, much like I do in my spare time. I got a phone call during my lunch break this past Thursday from her, telling me she was going to Brooklyn Larder in Park Slope, Brooklyn. She asked me if I wanted her to bring me back anything (what a silly question). I told her to bring back something unique, preferably a type of cake, but nothing chocolate. Yes, I typically know exactly what I’m in the mood for when it comes to sweets. I don’t play around. More Here...

  • My 3 Favorite Places to Eat Crab Cakes

"Crab cakes and football," that's how Maryland does it. Yes, I'm a Marylander and we do boast the best crab cakes around. There's nothing better than an incredible, rich, and tasty crab cake to lift your spirits on a beautiful summer day. Please don't tell me you're allergic to seafood or dislike crab because I may just cry and men who love football don't cry.

Whenever I'm away from my home state I'm hesitant to take the leap of faith to try a crab cake on a menu. I may be bold enough to order a crab cake sandwich if nothing appetizing on the menu lures me in. A bad crab cake can almost always be hidden by two buns, lots of tartar or cocktail sauce, lettuce, and tomato.

A truly amazing crab cake needs nothing extra. I judge my crab cakes by taste and texture. When I say texture I am referring to the type of crab meat in the crab cake. More Here...
