  • Snickerdoodle Whoopie Pie Stuffed Cinnamon Roll

This is a guest post from CakeSpy.

CakeSpy Note: This was one of the entries from my "So You Wanna Be a CakeSpy?" Contest--that was too good not to share! Thanks to The Miss Cupcake for sharing the recipe.

Nothing brings families together like Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, or so they say. In this off the wall dessert, the cinnamon roll is just the overcoat to its delicious cake-like insides. Unwrap the cinnamon flesh and feast your eyes and heart upon a snickerdoodle stuffed whoopie pie. Maine, who has claimed the whoopie pie origin, has no rights to this delicious “prize inside” delight. More Here...

  • Plate Color Determines Serving Size

A recent study in the Journal of Consumer Research that another factor that influences how much food a person eats is the color of their plate.

The study sent their subjects to a buffet serving pasta. They were split into two groups--one group was served Alfredo sauce (white color) and one was served marinara (red color). Subjects in each line were arbitrarily given red or white plates.More Here...

  • Mini Baked Frittata with Broccoli, Bacon, and Sharp Cheddar

This is a guest post from For The Love of Cooking.

I was in the mood for a filling and healthy breakfast so I decided to make a mini frittata just for me.  I had leftover steamed broccoli in the refrigerator along with a piece of bacon leftover from my kids breakfast and some sharp cheddar and threw them together with two eggs before baking them.  The mini frittata turned out light, fluffy, and very flavorful.  I’ve never had broccoli with eggs before and I am so glad I finally tried it because it was so good!  A nice & healthy breakfast that tasted delicious – you can’t beat that!cMore Here...

  • The New Face Of Binge Drinkers

If you think college students and young adults make up the vast majority of binge drinkers, think again! According to the Center of Disease Control (CDC), frat boys and party girls have nothing on the senior citizens.

A recent press release by the CDC reveals: "While binge drinking is more common among young adults ages 18–34, of those age 65 and older who report binge drinking, they do so more often – an average of five to six times a month."More Here...

  • Super Bowl Sunday: How Many Wings Do Americans Consume?

The Super Bowl is around the corner and I cannot be more thrilled. The New York Giants are playing (Woohoo!) and it's my yearly excuse to devour all the delicious, unhealthy goodness that I deprive myself of.

I absolutely love appetizers and h'orderves  so when given the chance to plan, I make sure there's plenty of jalapeño poppers, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, fries, quesadilla rolls, bean dip and pretty much any cheesy appetizer I'm allowed to make or buy.

But it's no secret that buffalo wings are the classic Super Bowl dish. I would have guessed Pizza, but according to the National Chicken CouncilAmericans are predicted to consume 1.25 billion chicken wings (around 100 million pounds) this Super Bowl weekend alone!More Here...

  • National Pistachio Day

Pistachios are the best! They are addicting and I actually kind of enjoy that I have to work for them. They also remind me of my dad, they are his favorite and he would be content with receiving a giant bag of pistachios as a gift for every single holiday.

Pistachios grow on a tree that originated in Persia and they are now growing in several various countries including the USA. More Here...
  • Crab Stuffed Ravioli

This is a guest post from Feast On The Cheap.

Mary Anne here. When I sent Mariel the pix for this recipe, I unabashedly called it the best creation yet! Now that’s pretty big talk, considering I’ve been cobbling together culinary inspirations for more than 25 years, but seriously folks – this recipe rocks!

It was born on the eve of this weekend’s snow blast when I had to hit the grocery store to restock my barren cupboards. More Here...

  • Fluffy Vodka!

Miss me everyone?  Didn't think so.
So I've been seeing the commercials for the Smirnoff Fluffed Marshmallow and Whipped Cream Flavor Vodka.  The first thing I thought was "....Fluffy vodka?"  But these flavors look interesting to me.  Though I prefer the color blue I'm more likely to try the Whipped Cream flavor.  I'm also highly curious about recipes that require one of these to vodkas.
What do you think?  Would you try these?  If anyone knows of recipes with one of these as an ingredient, please let me know

  • Chewy Biscoff Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a guest post from Kirbie's Cravings.

Have you tried Biscoff spread yet? If you’re a fan of Nutella, I urge you to try it. While it doesn’t taste anything like Nutella, it’s originally from Europe and has been spreading in popularity in the US, much like Nutella did.

The spread is made of the popular European cookie. The cookie is crunchy, with a little bit of spices, perfect to eat with a cup of coffee. They are served on some airlines, which is how they started getting popular outside of Europe. I like the cookies, but I like the spread even better. More Here...
