  • Rhubarb Patch

This is a guest post from Thibeault's Table.
I know spring is really here when Rhubarb is available.

I look forward every year to my first rhubarb pie. I planted my own Rhubarb late 2010. Last year I was able to pick some rhubarb, but not until a little later in the season. But this year I have a very healthy rhubarb patch.

  • Homemade Frozen Greek Yogurt

I have always enjoyed Greek yogurt and am overjoyed by how easy it is to find now. Before I had to either hang my own yogurt or drive to the nearest Arabic grocery store. Many brands of ice cream are also making Greek frozen yogurt, but after trying a few I was disappointed by the lack of tang and tart. Also, some brands have eggs and cream in their frozen yogurt, so it's more like ice cream. Luckily, frozen Greek yogurt is unbelievably easy to make at home.More Here...

  • The 5 Best Store Bought Cookies

Don't you wish you were the cookie monster? You could eat cookies all the time. Lately, I've been reminiscing about my elementary school lunches. I looked forward to the plastic bag filled with two or three cookies. I loved it when my mom gave me the chance to pick out the cookies from the grocery store(rarely ever happened). Now it's harder to eat store bought cookies because my cookie monster side tends to emerge and I eat whole boxes with a glass of milk at my side.

Here are my 5 favorite and most addictive store bought cookies. More Here...
  • Brazilian Cannibal Empanadas

Disclaimer: This post is not for the squeamish. Or for those who love empanadas.

The fictional story of the antihero Sweeney Todd just might be a case of where reality imitates art.

Brazilian authorities have arrested three people--specifically, a man, his wife and his mistress--for allegedly murdering two women, consuming parts of their bodies and using their flesh to make empanadas. The stuffed pastries were sold to their neighbors.

According to authorities, the cannibalistic trio offered their victims a job as a nanny. The remains of the two women were found in the backyard of the suspects' home. The Brazilian police cracked down on the three after one of them used a credit card belonging to a victim.More Here...

  • Abomination or Innovation: Hot Dog Stuffed Crust Pizza

  • Baked Creamy Macaroni and Cheese

This is a guest post from Kirbie's Cravings.

I think I’ve tried enough stove top macaroni and cheese recipes lately and found two I really liked (here and here). Now I’ve decided to move onto baked macaroni and cheese recipe.

First up I tried the recipe provided to me by Mama Sparkles. I have already done part of this recipe, the stove top portion, and really enjoyed it. But I wanted to do the full version with the baking. I guess it’s not the traditional baked macaroni and cheese recipe since most of it is made on the stove top, but it does have the finished baked look. More Here...

  • Top 5 Burger Joints

The burger is an all American classic food. I feel like the burger is such a staple that it is not something you need to be in the mood for. While I do not frequently eat burgers because I prefer healthier fare, I can honestly say it is one of my favorite meals when it is done well. I enjoy eating burgers most at a summer barbeque, but here are my top 5 favorite burger joints for when it is not summer or a barbeque occasion: More Here...

  • Spiced Apple Cider Muffins with Streusel Topping

This is a guest post from For The Love of Cooking.

My kids ran laps in their gym to raise money for their school today.  They both did around 50 laps each and they were tired but very proud of themselves when I picked them up from school today. To celebrate their great lap running we made homemade spiced apple cider muffins with streusel topping from a recipe I found on Eating Well.  They were a snap to make and they smelled amazing while they baked in the oven.  My kids gobbled them up in seconds and wanted more. Needless to say these muffins were a big hit and won’t last long in this house. More Here...

  • April 20th is National Lima Bean Appreciation Day

Get excited about lima beans!!! April 20th is National Lima Bean Appreciation Day and I couldn’t be happier that  there is a day is dedicated to respecting the lima bean. I might have been the only 10 year old who actually liked lima beans. I found them meaty and nutty, while my friends simply described them as “blechy”. My mother also hates lima beans; we would go out to restaurants and if there were lima beans in her dish she had not expected she would pick them out one by one (and then I would eat them). Maybe I like lima beans so much because my mother never made them at home growing up, so I have always been on a quest to make up for lost time. More Here...

  • Finally Lickable Wallpaper Comes to Life

Probably like most cooks, Willy Wonka played an influential role in my life. I read the book and watched the movie countless times, and even love the remake. One of my favorite images from the book was the lickable wallpaper. I went as far as to tape candy buttons all over my bedroom wall, until ants insisted otherwise. Now finally, lickable wallpaper has become a reality in a London elevator.More Here...
