  • Miami Restaurant Review: Barton G

A few weeks ago, I spent a long weekend with my friends in Miami. We were there celebrating my friend Lauren's 23rd birthday. It was honestly one of the best times I've had in a while and it was so nice to spend time with my friends. We ended our weekend with one of the most amazing dinners I've ever experienced. This all took place at a restaurant called Barton G.

Let me start off with the decor. Within seconds of walking into Barton G, I was in absolute awe. This restaurant is beautiful. There were realflowers hanging in glass tubes from floor to ceiling connected by black, metal chain. Above the bar were huge lighting pieces that are honestly indescribable. The host brought us outside and lead us to our table...in a jungle. Oh my goodness. It was a jungle lit up by hidden lights in the trees and candles on each table. More Here...

  • LaGuardia Aiport: A Place for Top Dining Before Flying

My concluding installment of Finally! Good Airport Food features LaGuardia Airport (LGA), located in East Elmhurst, Queens. My first post featured JFK International Airport and my last post San Francisco International Airport. LGA is the airport I fly out of most frequently because it is the closest to my house, and I find it the most convenient. Recently I have noticed an influx of new products at even the magazine stand and CIBO Express, like organic bars, gourmet cookies and nut mixes, and hummus. The demand is there, and that is why airports all over are starting to offer more elegant items. A mediocre (and questionable) tuna salad sandwich and a bag of Lay’s just won’t do anymore.

Most exciting offerings are located in Terminal D, which was recently redone.

Classic New York slices are served up at Tagliare, at this pizzeria More Here...

  • The Best Stuffed French Toast

I believe in dessert for breakfast. I love kick starting my day with a sweet treat. Stuffed french toast is my favorite dessert for breakfast. At Uncle Bill's Pancake House at the Jersey shore, they serve the best stuffed french toast I have eaten. More Here...
  • Chocolate Nutella Cups

This is a guest post from Kirbie's Cravings.

These are basically like peanut butter cups, but filled with Nutella instead. They are as good as they sound. More Here...

  • Chocolate Covered Pretzels

This isn't a post about your ordinary yet delicious chocolate covered pretzels. Inspired by the "What Do You Think of Flavored Vodkas?" post I would like to share a little work experience with flavored vodkas. I'll tell you how to make a chocolate pretzel with flavored vodka. I do not really have a taste for hard alcohol, but these treats are delicious. More Here...

  • Do You Want Your Gym to Have a Bar?

Are you a health fanatic, but still like to go out for the occasional drink? I enjoy sports, food, and a good glass of wine or a nice beer. I love working up a sweat in the kitchen, on the playing field, and at the gym.

Even though exercising can be a rewarding private self-motivating experience, I also enjoy the social experience of a bar. I like going out for drinks to hang out with friends, catch up and talk, and I love being around lots of people having a good time. Does that make me partially a social drinker? Perhaps, yes. It never occurred to me that this social element of sharing conversation over drinks could be found at a gym.

According to the article, "Uplift Studios: Open-Bar Gym Gets You Boozed and Buff" in the Huffington Post, Uplift Studios which is located in Manhattan, is a gym that combines exercise and alcohol with their "Raise the Bar" classes. The gym has programs such as "Cardio and Cocktails" and "Workout and Wine." More Here...
  • The Panorama of My Silence-Heart Café Review

I purchased a Yelp deal for $10 worth of food for $5 to be used at The Panorama of My Silence-Heart Café in Jamaica, New York. The Manhattan-esque café caters to a vegetarian/vegan crowd, but meat lovers like me can also find comfort there with super strong and frothy lattes, homemade pastries, hearty wraps, and hand crafted salads and sandwiches. This cozy and quiet café offers a chill atmosphere, as if you were sitting in your own living room. I went there last Thursday for an early dinner and to cram in some study hours, knowing the café would be conducive to my needs.

I decided on the Cobb Salad (6.95) made with veggie ham and chicken, egg, parmesan cheese, tomatoes, croutons, walnuts, guacamole and greens served with a house balsamic dressing. It was incredibly light and flavorful, something I would not expect from a vegetarian salad. More Here...

  • French President Bans Cheese From Diet

    Sarkozy Visits a Cheese Factory

Could you ever ban cheese from your diet? I could never do such a thing. It would be a sad day if cheese was not found in my house.

According to the Huffington Post, the French President Sarkozy "has banned cheese from the menu at the Elysee Palace." Apparently he follows a strict diet and there is no room for cheese in his life. More Here...
  • Rich’s Light New York Cheesecake

This is a guest post from Feast On The Cheap.

Mary Anne here. Or should I say, Rich Doscher here! Rich is a registered dietitian at the hospital where I work. Together with a physical therapist, the three of us give seminars at local senior centers and churches, instructing folks on keeping one’s joints healthy. For such a young “kid,” Rich has an amazing grasp on eating well and can recite, without hesitation, the absolute best foods to eat if one is looking for an anti-inflammatory, joint-healthy menu. I have to say, the 70+ set love his portion of our seminars, but I think it might have something to do with his boyish good looks and that twinkling, twenty-something smile! Just sayin’, Rich… More Here...

  • Santouka: My favorite place for Ramen

Every once in a while, I'm always craving for ramen especially from Santouka which is located inside Mitsuwa Marketplace (595 River Road Edgewater, NJ 07020).

Although I haven't tried a whole lot of restaurants that serve ramen, I must say Santouka is definitely one of my favorites. More Here...
