  • Ben & Jerry's Flavor Review: Milk & Cookies

I came to the conclusion that I actually am a Ben & Jerry's fanatic. I recently wrote a review for Mint Chocolate Cookie and here I am, again, writing a review for yet another flavor. Well foodies, this week the flavor is Milk & Cookies, which I didn't think I was going to like but suprisingly I did.

I wasn't planning on buying this flavor, but Mint Chocolate Cookie was sold out and nothing else was appealing to me. I grabbed the pint from the freezer and headed to the register, wondering to myself if the cashiers know me by now. I also came to the conclusion that the food store is my second home as I am there constantly. But anyway, back to the ice cream. More Here...

  • 10 Ancient Aphrodisiacs

We all know about oysters, garlic and chocolate being aphrodisiacs. But the Huffington Post recently shared 10 unknown aphrodisiacs that were used back in the day around the world that just may surprise you! Here are ten ancient aphrodisiacs that aren't as well known:

    1. Pine Nuts: Arabic doctors often prescribed this for their alleged results. And there could be some logic! Pine nuts are high in zinc, which is known to increase male endurance.

    2. Figs 8 more here...

  • Strawberry Cake Waffles

This is a guest post by Kirbie's Cravings.

Love is in the air. Or so it seems for those around me. In the last week, two of my friends had a secret marriage ceremony, another one got engaged, and I received my invitation for a wedding for two other friends.

Strawberries are usually on sale in February, and it just so happens they are FH’s favorite fruit. Unfortunately, he also has an allergy so he isn’t supposed to eat many. But one or two is okay. So I made him these strawberry cake waffles.

Instead of making regular waffles, I decided to make strawberry cake and bake it in the waffle maker. These came out pretty good. Sweet, light, crispy, with little bits of strawberries mixed inside. It works as a breakfast or a dessert. More Here...
  • 100% Homemade Cookie Dough Ice Cream

I was in the kitchen all weekend! My plans were to make cookie dough ice cream and french onion soup. I stared the ice cream on Friday night since it's a bit of a process. I made the base Friday night, the cookie dough Saturday afternoon and then mixed it all together in the actual ice cream maker on Saturday night. And on Sunday, it was ready for consumption! • Parmesan And Tomato Baked Egg With Toast Soldiers

This is a guest post by For the Love of Cooking.

I have been seeing egg dishes with something called soldiers for awhile now.  I did some research and the soldiers are just strips of toast.  The toast is cut into strips to make dipping into the egg easier.  I was craving something quick and simple for lunch today so I checked the refrigerator to see what I had on hand.  I decided to bake an egg. I added Parmesan cheese and a bit of sliced grape tomatoes to the egg and I served it with toast “soldiers”.  It was a simple and delicious dish.  I loved the salty Parmesan with the sweet tomatoes  and the toast dipped in the egg tasted wonderful.More Here...

  • Healthy Meal Ideas: Advice Needed!

I need some advice! My diet needs a makeover and don't get me wrong, I know what's healthy and what's not, but I am having trouble sticking to what I SHOULD be eating. Back in 2008, I lost 25 pounds by dramatically changing my diet and exercising, a lot, but this time around it's not so easy. I am trying to shed a few pounds, but mostly I want to feel healthy again. I have the exercise down, but I am having trouble getting my diet under control. More Here...
  • Foodie Proposals

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and all I can manage to see on the Internet are stories about food retailers and boutiques offering special "proposal" packages.

Take Pizza Hut, for example. The pizza franchise is offering a special engagement package for $10,010. What does this package get you? Full rights to propose at any Pizza Hut, limo service, flowers, fireworks, a videographer, a photographer, a ruby red ring and a Pizza Hut dinner box containing "a medium one-topping rectangular pan pizza, five breadsticks with marinara sauce and 10 cinnamon sticks with a sweet icing cup in one box." More Here...

  • Kahlua Mug Cake

This is a guest post by Kirbie's Cravings

I’ve been getting lots of suggestions for more mug cakes to try making. I love all the ideas and hopefully I’ll be able to make them all eventually.

One suggestion I got was to create a Kahlua Mug Cake. So here it is.

You can taste the coffee, though most of the liquor taste evaporated when cooking. Next time I might add some espresso to the cake to make the coffee taste even more apparent.

It took me a few attempts to get this cake right. I forgot how sweet Kahlua was and my first version was way too sweet and I couldn’t taste the Kahlua at all. I did some more “research” tonight and I like this version the best. You can taste the coffee, a tiny hint of alcohol, and the cake is nice and fluffy too. I could barely wait for this cake to cool before digging in.More Here...
