  • Hometown Favorites: Candy

Hometowns are a funny thing. People get very sentimental about where they're from, no matter how much they loved it or hated it growing up. There are some things about our hometowns that will always be beloved, though, and candy is one of them. Not the candy that you'd pick up from the drugstore, not your ordinary Snickers bar, but the elegant, thoughtful candy you'd get during the holidays, from a real candy shop.

As an Ohio native, my husband loves Malley's Chocolates. I've yet to try their filled chocolates, but I've had their chocolate covered pretzels and buckeyes, which are pretty great.

However, as a California girl, See's will always be my favorite. They're famous for their Lollypops (yes, that's the actual spelling) in decadent flavors like Cafe Latte and Butterscotch (their seasonal Pumpkin Spice is amazing!) Folks also love their Peppermint Twists. As for their filled chocolates, I love their renowned Scotchmallow (a layer of honeyed marshmallow on top of caramel, covered in dark chocolate) and their Raspberry Creams are divine.

What's the best candy in your hometown?
