Typically, if you've ever had a terrible sunburn, you've used aloe vera.
I definitely fall under the category of people who've only used aloe vera to soothe cuts and sunburns, but if you're an adventurous drinker, you may have noticed that there are different kinds of bottled aloe vera drinks available in markets and stores. Aloe can be used as a cleanse and is rich in both vitamins and nutrients, so I suppose drinking and eating it ultimately makes sense. If you're curious, here's five foodie ways to enjoy aloe vera! Links to recipes are included!
1.
Aloe lemonade Made with stevia, lemon juice, and aloe juice, this is refreshing and simple to make at home. Definitely trying this during the summer.
2.
Poached aloe vera If you've seen aloe in the form of jelly cubes, that's essentially poached aloe. Adding a handful of poached aloe vera would be great for added texture in yogurt or some sort of a drink - substitute it for the tapioca balls in boba!
3.
Smoothies and
juices I'm a fan of "the more the merrier" when it comes to smoothies and juices. Both of these recipes sound delicious!
4. Cocktails:
Pineapple-Aloe or
Cucumber-Aloe Plus you can add the poached aloe for even more fun!
5.
Aloe vera pickle A sweet and strange pickled twist, for the adventurous.
I'm sure there are many, many more ways to enjoy aloe vera, so let me know,

I drink a Korean aloe vera juice with pulp in it. It's very delicious!
The aloe lemonade sounds pretty good. I've only had aloe in a bottled drink you find in Korean markets.
@heart_leigh@xanga - me too! I the different flavored ones like pomegranate and peach are delicious as well.
@prettyinprinciple@xanga - Yup, they're so good, aren't they? It's addictive!
@heart_leigh@xanga - @prettyinprinciple@xanga - I drink those, too! Super yummy.
Interesting! Can't say I've had it as anything but a little extra crunch in a salad. I think I prefer to use it on my face.
I've tried some canned drinks. It was made to help an upset tummy, though I didn't have one while drinking it. It is hard to find aloe where I am.
gauge my seriosity.
Excellent, creative post! especially regarding poached aloe!!!
Poached Aloe with orange juice
i use aloe vera gel as an aftershave cause i have such a sensitive skin that i can't use most of the cosmetic brands they have out there. i also use it for after sun use. but i do enjoy drinking aloe vera. it's good for the digestion, especially when you having a hard time going to the bathroom, which usually happens to me when i travel.
