A while back, in my posts about the
Great Malasada Adventure, I mentioned
Liliha Bakery.
My dad visited our family in Hawaii right before the holidays, making it back to LA just in time to meet up with me as I flew in from New York. His Christmas present to my mother and me? A suitcase full of baked goods from
Liliha Bakery. Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration. Sort of.
He brought home an entire chocolate dobash cake. Slightly damaged in transit, but still delicious.
And a huge package of coco puffs.
Cue the drooling.
Liliha Bakery is always one of our stops (okay, okay, we go there multiple times a trip) when we're visiting simply because...well, they're the best. There's nothing that even reaches the same quality of the chocolate they use in their dobash cakes or the creamy taste of their coco puffs, which by the way, are topped with a decadent butter cream smidge. The entire combination? To. Die. For.
Liliha also boasts a diner...so you can eat coco puffs while you wait for your seat
and for dessert! If you ever get the chance to visit, definitely go to
Liliha Bakery. It won't disappoint. They're located at 515 N. Kuakini Street, Honolulu, HI.
What's your favorite bakery?

I love Korean bakeries because they have individually packaged cream filled breads and unique breads. Korean/Asian bakery breads aren't as sugary sweet as American style breads. :D
@cute_sushi@xanga - yeah, and the bread is always cut more thickly...which is sooooo good haha
O.M.G. chocolate overload!!
