As Thanksgiving weekend comes to a close, we figured we would share pictures of how our team ate on Thanksgiving. Back to work tomorrow!
Eugenia - Since our family all live fairly far away Thanksgiving is always an annual reunion of my college friends that live in the area. This year we hosted in our small NYC apartment for the first time. We normally go to a friend's place in Jersey but this year we decided to try our hand at hosting. I have to give big props to folks that host big holiday get togethers! It's so much work and clean up!!

In the midst of shopping, cooking, cleaning and prepping the food I didn't take many photos of the final products but here's a small collage of our evening.
Thankfully we always do a potluck so I was only responsible for the ham, sweet potato casserole and cranberry sauce. If anyone ever needs a baked ham recipe
this one was awesome! We also had mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, roasted veggies, mac n cheese, rolls, turkey, creamed corn, apple pie and pumpkin pie with ice cream. We were all stuffed and by 7p.m. half my friends were taking a nap while watching football. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Susmita — My mom is currently in India and with half my family dappling in vegetarianism, we decided to take a non-traditional approach for Thanksgiving. Instead of the tradition fixings (I'm not going to lie, I'm remiss I didn't get to indulge in the traditional Thanksgiving food), we opted for pizza! We got herb dough from Trader Joe's and made our own individual pizza—My niece got the most creative with a smiley face pizza (see below). I kept dessert simple as well with banana pudding.

Stephanie - I had Thanksgiving at my local bar, Sunswick. My husband and I had a couple friends in town from Los Angeles, so we all went down to Sunswick and had a delicious turkey dinner, including an appetizer of Butternut Squash Soup and a slice of Pumpkin Cheesecake for dessert.
The dinner included turkey, roast, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. Of course we drank lots of delicious beer too! It was a nice and relaxing Thanksgiving and the food was excellent!
Janet - I visited my friend in Irvington for Thanksgiving. We had a pretty simple but casual and comfy dinner.

All of the food was prepared by my friend's mother - who prepared a delicious feast all by herself. She was an amazing lean mean cooking machine! We had the traditional turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed sweet potatoes with marshmallows, stuffing, apple and pumpkin pies. It was intimate and a welcome break!
What was your dinner like on Thanksgiving?

My Thanksgiving dinners were awesome, I posted about them here and here.
Since it isn't feasible for my family to get together for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, I had Thanksgiving dinner at Golden Corral. And I probably overate as much as I would have had I been with my family.
Our standard is to spend much of the day snacking on veggies, pepperoni, summer sausage, cheeses, crackers, and pickle rolls. Dinner consists of turkey, ham, green bean casserole, rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry goop, sometimes sweet potatoes, and a pie or two. And always punch to drink. Mmmmm....
Mom usually does most of the actual cooking, but it seems like Dad's having to do more and more of it because Mom would rather be doing other things.... Meh. Anyway, Dad and I usually take lead, with my siblings and husband helping, at cutting up foods for relish trays, making pickle rolls, making punch, etc. Due to work conflicts, my husband and I weren't able to get to my parents house until the prep work had all been done. I hadn't realized how important it is that I be there. Yikes. Whoever wound up doing most of it... uh... didn't do a very good job.
My Thanksgiving was okay. Food was great. But my inlaws don't really like me so I was ignored the hole day. And I'm on a diet, so I had to limit myself on what I ate.
