5 Foods That Make Me Happy

When you're unhappy, what is the one thing that makes you happy? I have a lot of answers for this question, but one thing is for sure is food. Food always has a way of making life a little brighter and a little better.Everyone has a favorite food or a go-to type of food that always makes them feel better I'd like to share with you the top 5 foods that make me happy, when things are rough or when I'm not in a mellow mood.
1. I know I've said this before, but I really love my boyfriend's dumplings. I've tried a lot of dumplings before and I mean a lot, but none of them can ever compare to the deliciousness to my boyfriend's pan-fried dumplings. There is nothing greater than tasty food made by someone you love very much.
Every once in a while, my boyfriend and I make dumplings from scratch for dinner and just sit there talking about random things. It's a fun experience for us to bond over. His dumplings are beautifully crafted, crunchy, and just has a homey taste and feeling to it.

2. When I first started eating Japanese food, I instantaneously fell in love with kani salad which is really crab meat, cucumber, sesame seeds, masago (caviar), and Japanese mayonnaise. Every time I go to a Japanese restaurant, I always opt for this salad because it's so addicting, but in a good way.

3. I love chocolate very much! Every once in a while, I have this insane craving for chocolate not to mention, whenever I feel sleepy a piece of chocolate sure wakes me up. In addition, whenever I feel moody chocolate has a way and chemicals that makes my mood a whole lot brighter.

4. Ever since my boyfriend introduced me to authentic ramen noodles, I've became so addicted to it. Whether it's winter or summer, a bowl of ramen is always a great comfort food and delicious to eat. My boyfriend and I love ramen oh so much.

5. I can't tell you how much I love coffee. I drink at most two cups of coffee a day on a daily basis. I just love that roasty smell of coffee whether it's on the train or walking by a coffee hsop, that scent is so captivating and strong. I love coffee because of it's roasty and slightly bitterness and because it makes me feel good.
What food or drink makes you happy when you're down?

Sweets or comfort food. Usually I pick candy/chocolate, cookies or macaroni and cheese. Other times cake or chicken noodle soup (if I don't want to make it, I will go out and have some pho. For some reason, I haven't found a chicken noodle soup I like when I eat out). And sometimes a food that reminds me of my childhood, like peanut butter and jam (strawberry jam kind of girl rather than grape jelly) sandwich. I do love a great pan fried dumpling, do you think your boyfriend is willing to share his recipe?
At first glance I thought the second picture was coleslaw--"Who craves coleslaw?!" but the sound of the crab and cucumber sounds really refreshing, that will definitely pick me up. Also, sunny summer fruits such as berries, pineapple, peaches and mangoes can brighten my day.
The one thing? That would have to be drawing.
As for pick-me-up foods, I'd have to say Chocolate & Coffee. Preferably dark. ^_^
I thought you said you were going to share the top 7 foods that made you happy?
Old-Fashioned Baked Macaroni and Cheese is my favorite. Then chocolate, chocolate milk, pizza, mashed potatoes w/ gravy...I could go on and on, lol :)
This was a fun post to read! Food and comfort definitely go hand in hand for me too. I love eating something hearty when I'm not feeling well (like a Korean stew or braised beef) followed up by my favorite flavor of Ben and Jerry's -Imagine Whirled Peace. :)
ahhh chocolate, coffee, pizza, cheese in general..I am a total cheese snob, and plain bread and butter. Also, ice cream. Oh yes. And cookies. yum
I love dumplings! My happy foods include macaroni and cheese and cheeseburgers! :)
I love your list!!!
Gyoza, Miso Soup, Onigiri, almost anything with pumpkin in it, and Broccoli Cheese soup are all my pick-up, makes me super-special-awesome happy foods. ... >.> Now I'm craving soup...
ice cream sundae.
An amazing cup of tea, lemon cheesecake, pancakes, a roast dinner with all the trimmings, and pie, chips and gravy!! Oh and pizza from Pizza Hut!
I always get super excited when food appears. Especially free food!! :D I definitely have a sweet tooth ice cream, cookies, and actually dried fruit and nut mixes are among my top comfort foods! :)
Vietnamese cuisine is my go-to comfort food, most of the time. I've had many hours of waxing philosophical over a good bowl of beef pho soup. And spring rolls. French food also has the same effect on me. Whenever my best friend comes to visit, we make crepes together.
If you just had the dumplings without the boyfriend it wouldn't be the same though, right?
I'm with you on the coffee! Nothing makes me happier haha
Also any japanese food. Katsu, gyoza, tempura. I love it all.
Your list is awesome! I've never had dumplings, I should try them.
I love eating chocolate/sweets and anything fried when I'm taking a break from my healthy lifestyle. I had 2 donuts today and they definitely hit the spot!
