  • Spaghetti With Tomato Sauce And Swiss Chard Pesto

This is a guest post by Chow Times.

Minoo made a pasta dish with the pesto we made in the community kitchen. The pasta is made with tomato sauce and Swiss Chard pesto. The pesto adds creaminess to this pasta.

    Ingredients

    • spaghetti
    • tomato sauce
    • Swiss Chard pesto
    • bay leaves
    • dried oregano
    • dried basil leaves
    • chili flakes
    • a pinch of sugar
    • ground black pepper

    Instructions
    1. Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water as per instruction on the box until al-dante. Drain.
    2. While the spaghetti is cooking, heat tomato sauce in a saucepan. Season with bay leaves, dried basil, dried oregano, chili flakes and ground black pepper to taste. Add a pinch of sugar to counter the acidity of the tomato sauce. Let simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
    3. Add tomato sauce to the drained pasta. Toss to mix.
    4. Add Swiss Chard pesto.
    5. Toss to mix well and serve warm. Serve with a salad on the side.

Would you try this recipe? What is your favorite type of pesto?
