Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing
First, here is the typical supermarket blue cheese dressing:
And here is its list of ingredients: Soybean Oil, Water, Blue Cheese (Milk, Cheese Culture, Salt, Enzymes), Vinegar, Egg Yolks, Sugar, Salt, Contains Less than 2% of Xanthan Gum, Lactic Acid, Lemon Juice Concentrate, Dried Onions, Sorbic Acid and Calcium Disodium edta as Preservatives, Spice, Dried Garlic, Whey, Autolyzed Yeast Extract, Cheddar Cheese (milk, cheese culture, salt, enzymes), Molasses, Corn Syrup, Sodium Phosphate, Caramel Color, Anchovies, Tamarind, Natural Flavor.
Uh, no thanks, I prefer my dressing without soybeans and preservatives and whatever else all that stuff is. I make my own using low fat, all natural ingredients.
First, I get some blue cheese:Ingredients: Milk, Salt, Cheese Culture, Rennet, P. Roqueforti
Then I get some Kefir: (kefir is like a more liquid form of yogurt - you could use a combination of milk and yogurt instead but I like the flavor of the kefir better for this application)

Ingredients: Pasteurized Cultured Lowfat Milk, Nonfat Milk, Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin D3.Then I simply cut a chunk of the blue cheese and put it into a container. Then I pour in the kefir. Then I use a hand blender to mix it all up, and BAM! Delicious, fresh, low fat, all natural blue cheese dressing!
Next time I make it, I may take some pictures to show how easy this is.

I'll still buy the packet, I'm lazy and don't really care.
@xsimplepleasuresx@xanga - haha agreed!
Well it doesn't get much easier than this... you can even get the per-crumbled blue cheese and then just pour the kefir on it. It would be as simple as making dressing using olive oil and vinegar - but that's probably too involved for you too, lol!
@coder88@xanga - Too involved for a dressing, I'd really prefer just to twist off a cap, lol. Now if we were talking marinades or barbecue sauce...
