(Another) New Way to Get Drunk
An aerosol spray can containing 21 shots of alcohol is now being sold in Europe for 20 euro ($26), according to a recent article on Eater. It is designed to get you momentarily drunk right away with supposedly no side effects. It delivers 0.075 milliliters of alcohol per dose, so it is ideal for people who want to get drunk only for a short time.
This product is also great for people uninterested in the act of drinking a cocktail or a shot, which often encompasses having to use the bathroom, dehydration, extra calories, etc. Designer Phillipe Starck and scientist David Edwards have introduced this alcohol spray called Wahh Quantum Sensations. These guys also introduced a chocolate spray called “Le Whif”.
Wahh Quantum Sensations poses a threat to teens looking for a quick fix, but the price may deter them. The article proposes that it is unlikely the product will become available in America because we recently banned the sale of the caffeine spray AeroShots. So, thankfully this will not be an issue for American teens, but getting drunk from this household item will.

I would not buy this product, although if someone had a can I would try it just to see what it was like. I understand the benefits of it, because I too hate feeling thirsty after having a couple of drinks. The only selling point for me is the supposed lack of side effects attributed to normal alcoholic beverages.
Would you try this? What about the chocolate or caffeine sprays?

I'm calling shenanigans!
It simply is impossible, it can't work (see here )
Even if the spray was 100% alcohol, it would take 1000 squirts of the stuff to have any effect. Think about it, a normal shot is 1.5 oz (44ml). This is 0.075mL. They claim it lasts for a few seconds... then your sober again.
I'm calling it out as a scam (and calling myself out as a buzzkill, but I'll just stick to beer and stay with the old fashioned way, thanks).
Ahaha, not surprised America banned AeroShot. It was a terrible idea to begin with. I don't know..it says no "side effects" but if you get drunk..usually people have side effects? I don't know. I probably wouldn't try it, doesn't seem like it's worth twenty-six dollars for being "drunk" or whatever for such a short amount of time.
Sounds like my kinda thing.... I want badly! Where do I get? Glad I live in slightly more liberal Canada. Wonder if we have these here.
This is incredibly dangerous.
This is stupid. Just like getting drunk.
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas@xanga - Agreed
If you get thirsty after a couple drinks maybe you should try being well hydrated before hand. Or drink a cup of water for every drink you consume? Works for me.
I would love to try this, I love alcohol but hate that you have to drink all the other stuff with it
@slicy@xanga - I agree with you, I question the authenticity of the product and what it administers. To me, the science behind it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Is it the rush of "oh i'm doing something bad" mixed with placebo effect/hyperoxygenation?
As for *if* the product did as it says it does, no, I still would not be interested. I don't think it's a good thing, either. And I'm all for new technology etc. But this serves no good purpose. Unless it can temporarily numb you for getting a tattoo without making you bleed like regular alcohol does. (I'm being ridiculous now.)
I read more about it, and it makes you feel drunk for a few short seconds. What is the point?
What's the fun in getting drunk without the drinking? There is no taste, no flavors, no smells, it's a stupid fix to get drunk.. I might be interested in an opposite aerosol - a temporary soberness aerosol, might become very handy!
I could see this bringing on a whole new subcategory of addiction. Maybe it wouldn't lead to 'traditional' alcoholism that concerns drinks, but it would be way more dangerous because there are supposedly 'no side-effects' which would encourage people to get drunk even more. And do we need to even bring up a spike in road accidents and other tragedies caused by being under the influence?
That's like £14 English pounds, uhhhhh NO!
I could buy a nice big bottle for that price.
