A man in Japan ordered 1,050 slices of bacon on his burger at Burger King. This guy ended up paying $85.82 for all that bacon. That's a lot of bacon--haha (pun intended)! He tried finishing it but failed. The article and video is here on the website
Eater.

People all over lately have been attempting to do crazy things with food, like the
cinnamon challenge. Adam from
Man Vs. Food, an addicting yet repulsive show on the Travel Channel, tracks down establishments that offer food challenges. These places offer prizes for guests who can finish an insane amount of food or down an inhumanely spicy dish. Food challenges and shows documenting such challenges are extremely popular. It seems that people like witnessing acts of gluttony or extreme eating. A milder food challenge I have encountered was when a guy at
Cheeburger Cheeburger finished a 20 ounce burger. The prize was his picture on the wall of other "winners". Think about it: a big steak at a restaurant is often half that amount. Adam from Man Vs. Food is about to attempt finishing a much larger plate of food in the photo below.

While I see the appeal of this, it also bothers me that the message is being sent out that overeating is a fun event. I'm not sure if I would attempt a food challenge like that, even for fun. It just seems abusive and dangerous to your health.
What do you think about extreme acts of food consumption?

1050 slices of bacon at $85 is a bargain!
@KevEats@xanga - Yeah, but who wants to spend that much money on bacon?!
It wouldn't break my wallet, it'd break my body!
$85 for 1050 slices of bacon is a bargain! But, I would never participate in eating challenges, or contests. It is not healthy nor enjoyable. An excess of anything can have an ill effect on the body. The reward of completing the challenge is not worth the harm you could be doing to your body.
I wouldn't/couldn't do extreme eating. Adam has been to Melt.
No.
thats disgustingg
that's gross. why would people want to challenge themselves that way??
Overeating is wasteful.. Someone else could have been eating that.
Asking for a heart attack?
I never understood those hot dog eating contests, and most certainly not this. I always feel like crap for a couple hours after indulging in a big mac. And even though I'm repulsed, if somebody is going to take part in such a challenge, at least finish over half of it!! Damn, not impressed.
But.. you know... BACON!!!!!!
Wow thats such a good price for bacon. I'd totally share it or buy it for a large party or something. Lol
Eating insane amounts of food is stupid and nothing to be proud of. Maybe eating something very spicy or doing the cinnamon challenge is more along the lines of a "challenge"...being a gluttonous pig isn't.
I love to eat but overdoing it isn't appealing to me. I mean, I just don't appreciate food as much when I'm not hungry.
