Here, when we think of pancakes you immediately imagine fluffy stacks drenched in butter and maple syrup, but every country has their own version of the pancake.
If IHOP was truly international they would include these pancakes.
1. The Netherlands: Pannekoeken
Large, thin pancakes served sweet or savory usually as the main course.
2. Norway: Ebelskivers
Fluffy, mini pancakes cooked in a special pan and often served filled.
3. India: Dosa
Large, thin, fermented pancakes made of rice and lentils served savory with chutneys and spiced fillings.
4. Japan: Okonomiyaki
A savory pancake with a variety of ingredients from octopus to bacon, topped with otafuku sauce and kewpie mayonnaise.
5. The Middle East: Ataif
A fluffy pancake folded around sweet baklava filling.
6. Ethiopia: Injera
A spongy pancake made of teff flour used to eat stews and sauces.
What's your favorite pancake?

When I think of pancakes I automatically think of the thin pancakes like the Netherlands one you showed here, but in my Slovak family we call them Palačinky. :)
Kimchi pancakes!
The Netherlands pancakes are my favorite! =D
Oooh I love okonomiyaki and dosas! I've also had Dutch pancakes before but they look very different from the ones you shared up top. They were thicker and had ham and cheese in them.
Jeon is the Korean version of pancakes. You gotta try them! :)
I have never tried any of these pancakes, but they all look very delicious. I usually prefer banana pancakes or pancakes with chicken sausage and pecans inside.
the kind in the top pic :)
OKONOMIYAKI~~~~ oh just died. <3
i'd like to try them all!
I've never tried another style of pancakes besides crepes. These all look awwwe-some
I love Korean pancakes. Either with green onions or with seafood. Soooooooooooo good!
The Chinese green onion pancakes are delicious as well. ;D************ Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Wow, very interesting! Wouldn't mind trying the Japanese one!
Dutch Pannekoeken! Because I'm Dutch myself! =]
ooh i've actually had injera! my first time at an ethiopian place last weekend. it was interesting and a little sour o_O
ive had the dosa, ataif and injera, (but my somali neighbor makes it different, itss actually sweet!)
theres also the pakistani/hindi "chilla" which is made of gram flour then you can either add spice, and make it chilly or sweet with sugar.
Injera!! Yummmm :3
This is awesome.
These all look great. I like blueberry pancakes best. I also love cornmeal pancakes, banana nut, and chocolate chip (all served with real maple syrup, of course).
Haven't had most of these kinds of pancakes, I wanna try...
It is a shame IHOP doesn't serve any of these. They look pretty good. Okay, really good.
They all look so good. I love dosa..big and crispy ones with potato filling :) Also, my mom makes these Indian pancakes called malpua (?) that look like this and they're my favorite!
I used to have a Korean roommate that gave me a taste of these green tea "pancakes" that were filled with pecans and some sweet syrup. I don't know if there's a real name for them, or if her mom just experimented haha.
Banana Pancakes or the Cinnastack pancakes at IHOP
ALL OF THEM.
I find the the best posts on Xanga usually come from ireallylikefood.
Yum!
I think I'll stick to crêpes.
