  • Pancakes From Around the World

Here, when we think of pancakes you immediately imagine fluffy stacks drenched in butter and maple syrup, but every country has their own version of the pancake.

If IHOP was truly international they would include these pancakes.

    1. The Netherlands: Pannekoeken

Large, thin pancakes served sweet or savory usually as the main course.

    2. Norway: Ebelskivers

Fluffy, mini pancakes cooked in a special pan and often served filled.

    3. India: Dosa

Large, thin, fermented pancakes made of rice and lentils served savory with chutneys and spiced fillings.

    4. Japan: Okonomiyaki

A savory pancake with a variety of ingredients from octopus to bacon, topped with otafuku sauce and kewpie mayonnaise.

    5. The Middle East: Ataif

A fluffy pancake folded around sweet baklava filling.

    6. Ethiopia: Injera

A spongy pancake made of teff flour used to eat stews and sauces.

    What's your favorite pancake?
