  • Does Fast Food Make People Exercise More?

According to the Huffington Post, a study conducted by research group BIGInsight found that 34.3 percent of people 18 and up claimed to exercise on a regular basis. When the group asked customers at big fast food chains if they exercised regularly, this percentage was actually even higher.

Though the number may be higher, it may not necessarily be accurate. Individuals could have easily lied about their exercising habits in order to appear more fit than they really are (I know I probably would have felt tempted to), or as the article mentions, people may really feel compelled to exercise more because of the guilt from having eaten unhealthy foods.

BigInsight followed up with 8 big fast food chains and the percentages of people who claimed that they exercised regularly. Here are the results from the largest percentages of people who said they exercise to the smallest.  Honestly, I can't say I'm too shocked over the results.

    8. Subway- 49.1 percent

    7. Chick-Fil-A- 46 percent

    6.Arby's- 43.2 percent

    5.Taco Bell- 40.3 percent

    4.Wendy's- 40.2 percent

    3.Burger King- 36 percent

    2.KFC- 35.4 percent

    1.McDonald's- 34.8 percent

What do you think of these results? Do you feel led to exercise more after eating fast food?
