Today is National Ravioli Day
Today is National Ravioli Day! If you love Italian food, why not serve up ravioli for dinner tonight in celebration of National Ravioli Day? Most of us have eaten these little, stuffed pasta shells before either from the can or made from the fresh ingredients.
Ravioli is pasta that has a filling that's sealed between two thin layers of pasta. You can fill your ravioli with practically anything you want really. Here's my list of my favorite ravioli dishes.
1. Fried Ravioli. Now that I think about it, it's been a long time since I last had fried ravioli. I don't think most people know that there is fried ravioli, especially my friends. I remember the first time I had fried ravioli was with my cousin and it went so beautifully with marinara sauce.
It's crispy on the outside and smooth with cheese oozing and hot on the inside. Next time I'm in Little Italy, I am making it a mission to order fried ravioli's.
2. Portabello Mushroom Ravioli. The first time I had this impeccable ravioli dish was at Olive Gardens last summer. I was amazed at how beautifully it looked and I must admit it was the BEST ravioli dish I ever had.
I love mushrooms, so knowing that bits of mushrooms and cheese were sandwiched between two sheets of pasta was exciting. I could go for this ravioli dish soon.
3. Beef Ravioli. Yes, I love the classical beef ravioli. It's original and loved by many. I'm not sure if there's ravioli with chicken or pork filling and I can't imagine what it'd taste like, but ultimately I feel that the beef ravioli is tasty and hearty.
Some people like a meat filling, some like cheese, some like lobster, and some even like vegetables in their ravioli. You always have the option to eat your ravioli plain or you can do what most people do and cover them in a nice, rich pasta sauce. These little-bite sized pasta treats are definitely loved by many.

I'm all about some cheeeeese ravioli.
Oh man, I want raviolis now! Also, fried ravioli is the best, I love that stuff!
I usually go with the cheese ravioli, but that fried ravioli and the portabella (love mushrooms too) look awesome. I've tried Lobster ravioli, which is pretty good too.
I'm a cheese ravioli girl, but if it's on a menu I enjoy a lobster or mushroom ravioli. I have never had fried raviloi but I KNOW I would like it.
I would love to try fried ravioli! I've never had it, but it looks so good in the picture you've provided. I've also had the portabello ravioli from Olive Garden, and love it! It's real good. Ravioli is a great food!
