  • Blue Cheese Dressing

This is a guest post by For the Love of Cooking.

I was looking for a blue cheese dressing recipe and found one on Simply Recipes.  This dressing couldn’t be any easier to make.  I love how quick and simple it is and that it’s great served on a salad or as a dip for wings, meatballs, veggies, burgers, chips, onion rings, or fries.  I used lower fat mayo & sour cream but you can totally make it with full fat if you desire.  I think it’s important to make this dressing a few hours before you want to serve it so the flavors have time to mingle.

Combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, blue cheese crumbles, vinegar, minced garlic, and sea salt and black pepper, to taste; mix until well combined.  Cover and refrigerate for two hours before serving.  Enjoy!

    INGREDIENTS:

    • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
    • 1/2 cup of sour cream
    • 1/2 cup of blue cheese crumbles
    • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
    • 1 clove of garlic, minced
    • Sea salt and freshly cracked pepper, to taste

    DIRECTIONS:

Combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, blue cheese crumbles, vinegar, minced garlic, and sea salt and black pepper, to taste; mix until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for two hours before serving. Enjoy!

I am not a fan of blue cheese, as it is often too pungent for my liking, but this looks so simple!  My favorite dressing for a typical salad would be Italian vinaigrette, followed by Ranch dressing.  There are others I'd be willing to eat, but thankfully my two top choices are usually available when I go out to eat.  (At least one of them is available.)
