I really, really love simple & fast recipes. Not because I hate the time I use cooking in the kitchen, it's the cleaning up of the kitchen that I dislike. So if I could cook everything in one pot, I'd be a happy gal. My crazy but sweet friend Ann gave me this recipe to her Beer Bread after I begged and pleaded to her to give it to me. Just kidding! I only had to ask once & when she told me exactly how to do it, I realized I didn't even need to write it down and neither will you.
But if you want to, that's okay!
The awesome thing about this recipe is you only use ONE BOWL to mix it in, and 4 ingredients.
You will need:
- 3 cups of self rising flour
- 3 Tablespoons of sugar
- 1 can or bottle of beer (This does not pertain to a 40oz bottle of beer, lol.)
- Melted butter. (I used about half a stick.)
Now I didn't even bother taking pictures of this recipe, since all you do is combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl & mix with a spoon, then mix the beer in. EXCEPT THE BUTTER! Once you place the dough in a pan, I used a little square one, whatever those measurements are, and I put the melted butter over the dough.
Bake the bread at 375 degrees, for 50-60 minutes. You will not be disappointed. Trust me my friend. The outside is crunchy, textured, and just gorgeous. While the inside is soft, moist, and tasty! Also, don't worry if you don't like beer. I will NEVER EVER drink beer by itself, but with this bread, you honestly can't taste it. Plus the alcohol obviously cooks off after during the process, so no worries with that.
I had to take these away from the table so my husband could stop eating them, they were that delicious!

Serve this with a warm soup, chili, chowder, or anything that tickles your fancy! Give this one a try! Super easy, fast and tasty!
Happy eating,
Katherine

@specialxplaces@xanga - I hope you give them a try! They are amazing!
Yum, might try this later in the week seeing as we have no yeast but a truckload of beer!
It's definitely a better use for beer than drinking it.
@thecolourofwater@xanga - I hope you do! They are super yummy, & a great way to use beer! (Without having to drink it lol)
@purpleranger - You are absolutely right! I don't like the taste of beer to drink it, but I could eat it all day in a meal.
I really love simple & fast recipes.
