Top 5 Game Day Snackaroonies
So it's the playoffs, and in honor of the fact that my team (The Mighty Patriots) are going strong, I figured it might be fun to put together a list of my favorite necessary game day noshes. And in keeping with the theme... BLUE 42, BLUE 42, HUT HUT, HIKE!!!
5. Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers
Bacon, cheese & jalapeños come together to make one lusciously savorific, easy to consume game worthy treat. GO TEAM!!!
4. Buffalo Wings
Like you didn't expect this. Perfectly cooked, succulent chicken extremities coated in that delectably tangy, buffaloed spiciness... add a side of some hardcore chunky yet creamy blue cheese dressing and that's an easy trot to a 2 point conversion.
3. Fully Loaded Nachos

Start with a layer of cheese (you need the foundation, don't want it to slip off the plate during all the excitement), pile on some chips, add some more cheese, your choice of meat, black beans, toss a little more cheese on there, stick it under the broiler, add some freshly diced onions, scallions and jalapeños, slop some football sized dollops of sour cream, salsa and guac on there and you've got a snack that ought to please any defensive line.
2. Plain ol' Cheese Pizza

Sure, I'm a fan of toppings, but if you really want to impress me then you need to put forward the tastiest cheese pie I've ever shoved in my mouth. That combo of a perfectly made crust with the right amount of spicily sweet sauce, topped with the correctly portioned mixture of grated mozzarella and cheddar (and maybe even some Romano or Parmasean for good measure) and you're looking at a crowd pleaser that would make Bill Belichick stop yelling and start comsuming.
AND THE #1 GAME DAY SNACK IS...
1. BEER!!!

I know, you're probably all disappointed that my #1 snack is the best beverage of all eternity. But it's hard to argue. Go to anybody's house for the game and the most consumed thing is going to be beer. Hands down. Eat a Jalapeño Popper, some Buffalo Wings, a stack of Nachos or half a Pizza and you're going to need some of that sweet nectar to wash it down. Not convinced? Well then depending on how much you drink (and if you drink real beer instead of the commercialized alcoholic water they call 'beer') then you're looking at a beverage that could fill you up like a meal and give your taste buds a run for their money. TOUCHDOWN!!!
And since I figured y'all might want an actual food item for your final snack, I offer you the Snacker-OT:
OT. Chilli Cheese Fries

Vivaciously crispy french fries smothered in a delectable chilli topped with a ton of cheese and fresh cut scallions. Why eat this in OT? Doesn't it seem a little late to be adding something so caloric and heavy? Maybe this seems like something you ought to have eaten earlier on in the game? Because at this point, who cares. And they're delicious to a fault. Seriously. Eat them.
Now, what do YOU like to eat when the excitement is palpable and the game is on?
