National Blonde Brownie Day
I'm not usually a fan of blonde brownies, but when I started searching for pictures and this turned up:
I think I may have changed my mind. Today is National Blonde Brownie day and I might actually go out and make some of these suckers because they look delicious!
The recipe looks pretty simple and I think I have everything I need.
Recipe from Fraccastoro & Paquette Family
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 sticks Butter or Margarine
- 1 tablespoon Hot Water
- 1 package Light Brown Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 2/3 cups Flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 6 - 10 ounce Semisweet chocolate bits
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over a low heat. Add the hot water and brown sugar. Mix well and let cool.
Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well.
Sift together the remaining dry ingredients then combine with the batter and mix well.
Spread into a greased pan and cover with the chocolate bitsBake 25 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
Let cool before cutting.

Sounds delicious.
I re-read that, thinking, "what the heck is a blonde brownie?" o.O
I really want to make these, but I'm going to add butterscotch chips to the mix... can't wait to taste :)
