  • Steakhouse Pizza

This week has dragged, mainly because I was excited to try my hand at homemade pizza! I made homemade pizza crust, but since this post is going to have a lot of pictures I'm going to skip those steps & just give you the recipe for it. I may post it later on this week, so keep your little eyeball out for it.

I found this recipe online & you can see the original recipe here. I modified it to what I had in my refrigerator & you can do the same. Let's get this show on the road!

    Your new best friends:

    • 1 Pizza Crust (Homemade or store bought)
    • Steak (I used some that I had in my freezer. Any kind will do!)
    • Salt And Pepper, to taste
    • Purple Onion, I only had half of one, but one or two would be nice.
    • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
    • Marinara sauce, (How ever much you want.)
    • Mozzarella cheese
    • Steak Sauce

Before I did anything, I chopped up my veggies & caramelized my onions.

I cut up some other veggies for tomorrows recipes, you will see then.

This is about half of an onion, next time I will use a full onion.

Now if you aren't an onion fan, please trust me on this and put those onions on the pizza. It gives the pizza a sweet and just delicious taste. I promise you my friend, you wont be sorry! If so, you can punch me on my arm okay? Just not too hard, I bruise easily. Cook it with one tablespoon of olive oil & one tablespoon of butter. Let it cook up and get soft and yummy for about 15 minutes at medium heat.

After you are done with that, spread your pizza dough on any kind of pan you want. & Preheat your oven to 475*. This pan was 13x9 & it was fabulous.

In a separate bowl, mix marinara & the Worcestershire sauce. Place your marinara on your crust. I probably only put about half a cup, if that. Just try a little at a time. I don't like a lot of sauce on my pizza, but if you do, put as much as your heart desires.

Next add those yummy onions. Since I was an idiot & only made half an onion, I only had enough for half a pizza. So don't be like me okay?

Place as much mozzarella cheese as you want! I put a lot since my hips love cheese.

Mean while, cook your steak on a grill. It's freezing over here in Alaska so you can bet I had to use my indoor grill. I seasoned my steaks with salt, pepper and a tad bit of steak seasonings. I didn't take a picture because I am a nerd & I forgot.

Let it sit for a few minutes to let all those juices soak up in the meat. I'm not a professional at cooking steak, so most of the time when I do cook steak, it's cooked well done. You don't have to be like me. While the meat is hanging out, put your pizza in the oven & let it cook for about 12-15 minutes. WATCH it closely, you don't want it to burn.

After a few minutes cut up your steak very thin, like this:

A minute before your pizza is done, spread this steak on the pizza & pop it in the oven so it can get a tad crusty.

The recipe calls for you to place steak sauce all over the pizza, with a squeeze bottle. I don't have one of those, so I improvised. I placed the steak sauce in my zip lock bag & cut a little hole when I was ready for it. Use whatever steak sauce you want, I'm just an A1 fan.

Once the pizza was done, I drizzled the steak sauce all over the pizza, & it was amazing. I'm not even going to lie to you.

    Is your mouth watering yet?

I thought this combination was going to be weird, but I surprised myself & my husband with how amazing this turned out. I will definitely be making this again. All of the flavors just come together so nicely. I highly recommend this!

    Happy Eating,
    Katherine
