2012 Foodie Resolutions
Happy New Year everyone! A new year means new beginnings and new adventures. I'm much excited for this new year especially the food I'll try and the places I'll see. I have a set of new year resolutions, but this year I also made my very own foodie resolutions and I'd like to share them with you.
1. Attend a Food Tour. I've never been on a food tour before, but it sounds delightful whether it's rain or shine. I love trying new food and new places, but I'd like to experience a tour and a guide and I think it'd be interesting to be in a group with complete strangers.
Ahoy NY Tours & Tasting conducts a food tour around Chinatown and Little Italy, for only $45 per person and for a duration of 3 hours. All food tastings are included. Although I am a New York City resident and have eaten in Chinatown and Little Italy, I probably don't know about certain places or dishes that are worth trying.

2. Cook/Bake more. I must admit I wish I can cook and bake more, but it's been so busy with school and work, that I don't have a lot of time to cook or bake. I'm trying to try at least one recipe per week so I can improve my cooking skills and try out new things.

3. Try a new cuisine. I've recently tried a few different and new cuisines in the past few years, but I really want to try new cuisines such as: Caribbean, Filipino, Greek, Portuguese, Taiwanese, and Soul food. It will be a bit of a challenge, but if you have any recommended dishes please send the recommendations away.

4. Work on my 2012 Project: 366 Days of Food. I was thinking about my new years resolution and what can I do differently this year, than last year. Since I love food, writing, and photography, I decided to create a food blog/project for 2012 called: My 2012 Food Adventures.
The purpose of this blog is that each day will consist of a photograph of food I tried for the day. So it's going to be 366 Days of Food, but what I post will be unpredictable. Enjoy!
5. Work on my personal food blog. Besides My 2012 Food Adventures, I also have a blog I created prior to this known as: The Art & Craft of Good Eating. This blog was created over the summer and is my official food blog, but I definitely need to put in a lot more time and effort into it. Follow me, if you wish.
6. Resume to the meatless Monday task. My boyfriend & I were trying out meatless Monday for a few months and it worked out great, but we stopped around July because of the massive barbecues that we were attending. In efforts to cut back on meat, eat better, and eat healthier, I'm going to resume to meatless Monday.

7. I always love to eat and enjoy food with the people I love. One of the best pleasures of food is eating it, sharing it, and enjoying it with the ones I love the most. So as for the new year, I'm going to continue my food expeditions with my family, my boyfriend, and friends.
Do you have any foodie resolutions?

Meatless monday is an excellent thing. I need to resume it as well.
i've been on a food tour before. It's so fun !! such a great experience
downside - not enough time to eat 5-10min at each restaurant then you're off again to the next restaurant
I surely do! I wrote a whole entry about them, actually.
Just to keep on eating!

filipino-chicken adobo, lumpia- mini meat egg rolls those are the msot common. pancit is also a common one which is a stir fried noodle dish.
greek- roast lamb!!! yum! spanakopita, dolmades
carribean- jerk chicken and jamaican patties are my top 2 faves.
my advice is to be adventurous and just try something out, even if you're not sure what it'll taste like. maybe you'll like it, maybe you won't and maybe you'll learn to like it after a while. i mean the first time i tried fried calamari, i hated it! and now, i love it and look for it on any appy menu and even get cravings for it.
