My New Favorite Bubble Tea Shop
I'm sure by now that you know that one of life's simplest pleasures that I enjoy is: bubble tea. I love bubble tea because it's tasty, it's inexpensive, and it's simple. Bubble tea is available in an abundance of flavors, style, and colors. If you've read Simple Pleasures: Bubble Tea, the post discusses what is bubble tea and what are my favorite flavors.
In Chinatown, NYC there are many shops where you can get bubble tea and one of my personal favorites have always been Ten Ren's. However, I have to say that's changed since a new franchise has opened up two shops in Chinatown. This franchise is called: Kung Fu Tea.
I haven't tried the other flavors yet, but right now I'm in love with their herbal jelly milk tea. The herbal jelly is really just grass jelly. I've had grass jelly with soy milk before, but never grass jelly with milk tea.
The first time I tried it, I instantly fell in love with the drink. It's absolutely tasty, lightly sweetened, and has a distinctive flavor. It's new, different, and unlike any other milk bubble tea I've had before.
The next flavors I hope to try are: longan honey tea, jelly wow milk, and coffee milk tea. Kung Fu Tea's selection and products are quite different from most bubble tea shops I've been to because they don't offer a lot of fruit flavored drinks, but I think it's still great.
What is your favorite bubble tea and toppings?

ohmigosh! those bubble tea cups are really looking yummier than any coffee. I cannot wait until this is also huge in germany. Well, I hope those shops are going to be released in munich too because NOW i wanna try all of the flavors :)
Hm... They're cheaper than Ten Ren's, I see. I'm afraid to try a new bubble tea place, though, because I decided to try Quickly's one time and had a bad experience. xD
Ten Ren's it is. :P
i stopped drinking bubble tea because in Montreal, the flavour all come form powder and they taste very artificial!
I have tried Kung Fu Tea. If I remember correctly, I had ordered the Yakult Green Tea and it was good.
MMMM I love boba.
bubble tea is so so grossssssssssssssssss - how could anyone drink and eat lumpy tapioca balls?
I do like taro milk tea though. Just without tapioca.
LOVE bubble tea - my favorite is rose flower, with extra boba mmmm
There's and awesome place in Vestal, NY on the Vestal Parkway right next to Denny's if you ever get up there. This little place took my boba tea virginity and will always be my fave. =P
I love bubble tea ! and that other thing that's made with coconut milk and ice, and the long green jelly worm things (anyone know what this drink is called?)
@pain2beauty@xanga - it's called cendol (it's Indonesian or some other SE Asian country, maybe Malaysian?) :)
I LOVE their bubble tea too! My cousin used to live around the corner, and we'd always get our bubble tea there!
I've just been alerted to the joys of bubble tea this year - it's absolutely delicious! My favorite milk tea flavors are Taro, Banana and Milk, thus far.
I've been to CoCo's on Lexington Ave in Manhattan, as well as Quickly over in Flushing, queens. Both are very decent joints.
I go to Quickly's with @Coffee_Kaioken@xanga when we hang out. I kind of stay away from Kung Fu Tea because they use high fructose corn syrup instead of regular sugar. Other places I go to is Ten Ren in Chinatown and some bakeries if I need a quick fix.
@laytexduckie@xanga - me and Cristy actually tried Ten Ren in Chinatown the other day. I think it depends on the flavor you order, but I got a large Taro and to put this lightly, it absolutely sucked.
I don't know if CoCo uses high fructose corn syrup, but it doesn't matter to me if they do; their stuff tastes damn good.
@Patty_CatCake@xanga - Sounds great!
@fightingXstronger@xanga - I've always had a bad experience at Quickly's and the staff aren't always friendly. You should definitely try out Kung Fu Tea. The service may be a little slow because the staff just have so many drinks to make, but it's worth it.
@osmundaregalis@xanga - Never had that before, what's it like?
@daavidd@xanga - I think you're one of the only people that I know that doesn't like bubble tea =(
@outsideofadog@xanga - I never had that before, but sounds interesting. I'm going to start looking for that flavor.
@Coffee_Kaioken@xanga - I am a lover of bubble tea too! Taro is usually made from a powder extract though. I never had a banana flavored bubble tea. My favorites are: jasmine green tea, peach, lychee, and strawberry.
@laytexduckie@xanga - I think Kung Fu Tea is slightly better than Tenren's. I haven't had Tenren's in so long. My favorite one from Tenren's is chocolate milk with tapioca! They use hershey's chocolate syrup :p
I think we have something called bubble milk around here. I've had it a couple times! I think its odd...but I get this strange craving for it every now and then. :)
