The Foods I'm Most Thankful For
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because I always celebrate it with my family and although we don't have a traditional Thanksgiving feast, the food we have is still delicious and heart-warming.
I am thankful for my family, my friends, my boyfriend, my positions at both a commercial real estate firm and IReallyLikeFood, but most of all I am thankful for food too. I can't forget about food. This is a list of the foods I am most thankful for:
1. Dumplings were one of the first actual food my boyfriend and I shared together not too long after we started dating. When I discovered he makes dumplings, I thought it was one of the greatest things in the world!
I love the dumplings my boyfriend and I make because they look good and taste good. His mom usually helps us marinate the meat and add in the fillings, while we're the ones that folding the dumpling, and my dumpling chef boyfriend cooks it.
The dumplings always comes out crunchy, crispy, and golden brown especially on the bottom! I'm always going to love my boyfriends delectable dumplings.

2. Stir-fried vermicelli with dried baby shrimp is a popular dish in my family, that my mom makes for special occasions or holidays. I have aunts that have made this dish before, but sadly their version always disappoints me.
It's either too salty, too clumpy, or falls apart. I haven't made vermicelli before, but the way my mom makes it has never been disappointing to me. I always tell her how tasty it is! The texture is of vermicelli is always soft and looks beautiful when it's topped with the dried shrimp and chopped scallions.

3. If you've read My Strange Obsession For Fried Calamari, than you can conclude that I love fried calamari! My boyfriend and I recently revisited STOUT NYC, one of my favorite sports bars and food places in Midtown, Manhattan and guess what? That's right we ordered another fried calamari appetizer.
I got my boyfriend hooked onto this since I first introduced him to STOUT. They really know how to cook their fried calamari because it has never been disappointing to us, ever.

4. When my boyfriend and best friend introduced me to Mitsuwa, I thought that it was one of the greatest food markets ever besides Trader Joe's. My boyfriend and I go to Mitsuwa a lot and he's got me hooked on Ramen noodles from Santouka.
There have been instances where we had to wait 25-45 minutes for the chefs to prep our noodles, but I didn't care how long the wait was because I know what it's worth the wait. I don't have a favorite ramen, because they all taste amazing and a total comfort food. It's becoming an addiction. I'm craving for some right now.

5. I haven't really ate a lot of soup dumplings until this year. My boyfriend and best friend always love a good serving of soup dumplings no matter what day or weather it is. I can eat these any time and any day. They're hearty, flavorful, and just a bundle of joy to eat. I haven't had soup dumplings for a month or so now, I need to grab some soon!

GIRL... if I had all them foods, I would be thankful, too! I would have to say that the food I'm most thankful for is chocolate. I'm also thankful for bread, and my top 5 favourite things (in random order):
1.cheese
2.sugar
3.butter
4.cream
5.bacon
with 2-4, you can make any combination of things (sweet or savory)... and well, 1 & 5 speak for themselves. they're not the only amazing foods, but from them all amazing foods flow.
okay, I'm done. I think that's the turkey talking this craziness. I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving.
1. tomatoes
2. broccoli3. Cauliflower4. Carrots5. EggsSuch gorgeous pretty looking food! It looks so tasty as well. I am thankful for Gumbo, and Jambalaya!!! I love cajun food! It's part of my diverse heritage.
@LilMizfoodie4891@xanga - Happy belated!
@making_a_comeback_05@xanga - I never tried Jambalya. Am I missing out? lol
@goodeatings - Yes, I think you are missing out on a lovely dish! Jambalaya is dish that basically consists of any regular smoked, or Andouille sausage, with chicken or shrimp mixed with rice that is mixed all together in a tomato sauce. Add in some spices, and seasonings, and you more or less have Jambalaya. There are different versions of the dish besides the one I mentioned. The best place to find a good Jambalaya is Louisiana of course, and some of the surrounding states to a lesser extent. Also if you can find someone who knows how to cook good cajun/creole food then you may just be in for a treat!
