  • My Tips & Tricks for Eating More on Thanksgiving

I cannot be more excited for Thanksgiving this Thursday! I love Thanksgiving because it's the kickoff for holiday season aka food season. If you're like me and have a serious love affair with food, then you know you need to prepare for the Thanksgiving meal.

I always try to eat as much as my stomach will allow without me feeling sick on Thanksgiving. Hey, I'm a college student so when I get to eat homemade meals I tend to go all out. There are definitely little tricks to do before Thanksgiving that allows me to eat more food. So I will share some of my tricks even though they are kind of silly/obvious.

Get a good night's sleep: I might be the only person who doesn't go out on Thanksgiving Eve aka one of the most popular nights to go out and party. Instead, I sit home in my pajamas and watch movies all night with my mom while my dad, sister and brother are out partying til the sun comes up. I need to get a good sleep to prepare my body and mind for the amount of food I'm going to consume the next day.

Eat snacks and small meals throughout the day: If you don't eat anything all day then your stomach is going to be all tiny, so when you start to pile in a lot of food you will get full faster. If you eat small things throughout the day, your stomach with stretch a little, which gives you more room when it's time for dinner.

EAT SLOWLY: I can't stress that one enough. I'm naturally a freakishly slow eater so this one isn't new to me. If you eat so fast you 1. can't enjoy the food since you're barely tasting it and 2. you get fuller so much faster and feel more sick. Who wants that? So relax and take time to chew your food and enjoy the taste of Thanksgiving!

Do NOT wear jeans: Thanksgiving is the only holiday in my family that we aren't required to dress up nicely. I take full advantage of this as I love to wear my pajamas all day long. I search for my most comfortable sweatpants and sweatshirt. I don't know how people can even move after eating a Thanksgiving meal if they are wearing jeans.

Thanksgiving is one of those holidays you need to go all out for. I pretty much eat like there's no tomorrow, which puts me into a food-coma for a decent amount of time but it's totally worth it.

Do you have tips for your Thanksgiving meal?
