  • Looking For Classy and Casual? Check out Vapiano NYC!

Last night I got to attend the food media event at fun space near Union Square; Vapiano, a pasta and pizza bar.

They had a beautiful spread of cheese, olives, and bread. The olives were my favorite part! They were huge and full of flavor. Of course they were also serving drinks! I started off with a beer (of course) and then finished off the night with a couple glasses of white wine.

Vapiano is a very large space, which is refreshing in an overly crowded New York City. It's located on the corner of University Place and 13th Street, you really can't miss it. It looks fancy from the outside and in, but it's a great place to come and relax after a long day at work. It's a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and a very unique space.

It's also really great for groups! Each person gets their own card to put money on and at the end of your meal, you just pay with the card. It may seem a little complicated, but really it's a great option if you are with a big group. It allows everyone to pay separately with ease.

Luckily this place is only 1 block away from where I work! I had seen it being built and open up, but had yet to visit until last night. They also had a pretty phenomenal dessert table, which got cleared out pretty fast. I was able to snatch up a chocolate mousse and a whipped cream and strawberries shooter.

These were both very simple, but very good. I was also able to grab a slice of what I assumed was chocolate torte.

This on the other hand tasted a little off. I have to be honest, I didn't like it that much and I only ate a few bites. Not sure what it was that made it not that great, but I was definitely disappointed that it looked a lot better than it tasted.

There were a few hors d'oeuvres being passed around as well. This was a mushroom and cheese mini pizza (thing). It was the best thing I had all night! They went really fast, so unfortunately I was unable to have another one.

They also had bruschetta, which was delicious and refreshing after eating all that cheese!

There was a pretty good crowd there last night and my husband and I ended up talking to this really awesome couple that we had so much in common with! We talked to them all night and it was a great time.

Vapiano is a classy, yet laid back Italian eatery with good wine and even better pizza. I will surely be back just to eat more pizza!
