My Top 5 Favorite Chinese Dishes
As much as I love southern food, I also really like Chinese food too (being Chinese probably has something to do with it...). I'm going to China over Christmas break and I'm sooo pumped for all the delicious food I'll get to eat! That got me thinking about my favorite noms so here are my top 5 favorite Chinese dishes.
1. Roast Pork
Since there's not a lot of authentic Asian restaurants around here, I don't get to eat roast pork a lot but if you can get your hands on some, do it! The skin is super crunchy and the kind I've always had comes with a sweet dipping sauce. My mouth is literally watering right now.
2. Spring Rolls

I could eat these every day! I especially like the kind with cellophane noodles (also called bean threads) in the filling.
3. Singapore Noodles

My dad makes the BEST noodles! There's just a hint of curry and lots of chicken and shrimp!
4. Steamed Rice Noodles with Shrimp

This is actually considered a breakfast food in Guangzhou, China and it's always my first choice when we go out to eat.
5. Dumplings

There's a famous restaurant in Guangzhou that's known for their dumplings. They're steamed and the filling is juicy and delicious.
What's your favorite Chinese food?

That roasted pork reminds me so much of lechon. Give me some lechon with rice and some Mang Tomas and I'm golden.
I love the roast pork, cha sieuw and the soy sauce chicken =)
i love steamed rice noodles with shrimp too! in addition to chinese bbq pork, har gow, siu mai, and lo mai fan (sticky rice)
i agree on everything but spring rolls. i'm not such a fan, i have to make it myself to eat spring rolls.
@endlezzthinking@xanga - mmm...Mang Tomas is even good on Chicken! have you tried lechong manok?
@Alpha_May@xanga - Yeah, lechon manok is good too. Chicken or pork, you can always make lechon paksiw with the leftovers :)
Everything on your menu is good. I like simple dishes like wonton noodle soup, rice porridge with Chinese donut, chive dumplings, e-fu noodles, etc
<33333
I like restaurant styled 'chern fun'. The ones in the grocery store tastes nasty. Though, I prefer western foods more than my Chinese counterpart.
I loooove all of these! especially roast pork and the dumplings and chern fun
my favorite thing now is pork and crab soup dumplings.
steamed buns with the "gold sand" yolk spilling out, anyone?
haha, the last one is so broad with "dumplings". I like General Tso's chicken from Panda. (i joke, i joke)
1. Roast duck
2. Beef Crispy noodle
3. Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce and garlic
4. Winter Melon Soup
5. Salt and Pepper Pork
i like everything you posted here except for the roast pork. i would rather prefer roast duck :D
@endlezzthinking@xanga - Hells yeah! I'm not Filipina, but I've been around all of the delicious food for the past 3 years (thanks to my ex!). When I go to my dad's house for the holidays, I'm sort of disappointed when I don't find rice nearby but instead there's tamales. :\ But hey, tamales are awesome too.
Mmm spring rolls and dumplings, yes please.
Ginger beef is my fav thoughMy favorite favorite dish is walnut shrimp! Esp. when the walnuts are crunchy and the shrimp is super crispy :)
Good list. I once ate 50 dumplings in one sitting; but I haven't been able to revisit that former glory.
I love dumplings and shrimp rice noodle. My favorite Chinese food is no doubt dumplings, wonton noodles, pan-fried noodles, Cantonese lobster, red bean soup, and a lot more lols
The picture for spring roll is actually egg roll.
I'd prefer egg roll over spring roll, but spring roll with a peanut dip is so wonderful!!I like Number 4s beef version better. But Shrimp is good! I LOVE dimsum! My favorite has to be chow fun though! YUMM
Dumplings are the best!!! i want some now.
Not a fan of spring rolls. You like #4? I love having that when I have dim sum (which I'm not really a fan of haha). High five girl!
Unless of course you're too busy eating...
singapore noodles and roast beef.. yumm yumm.
dim-sum is real chinese food. that take-out stuff,
is basically americanized. but i don't really like
dim-sum too much.. the shrimp usually tastes weird.
any type of dimsum!
