Recipes to Try This Week: Cake!
I have a friend who doesn't like cake and I found out after I bought him a birthday cake. I, on the other hand, love cake. In fact, after I get done baking one, I usually can't wait and just end up eating a lot of it before I can get around to making icing. I've been in a baking/sweet mood lately (then again, when am I not?) and here are my three picks for cake recipes this week!
1. Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake, courtesy of Simply Delicious
Peanut butter and chocolate are always a winning combo.
2. Pumpkin Cream Cheese Bundt Cake, courtesy of Dulce Dough

Very fitting for the fall season.
3. Bananas Foster Cake Bites, courtesy of Taste and Tell

I really like this recipe because you can use store-bought cake mix and it's a great way to use up overripe bananas you might have lying around (I know I have a bad habit of buying way too many bananas and having to throw them away because they turn into mush). Also, cake pops are really popular right now.
What's your favorite kind of cake?

@kath27@xanga - That cake recipe sounds really rich and decadent, perfect for the holidays.
For my fave cakes, I like classic combinations of yellow cake with chocolate frosting, or chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream, or pound cake. Of course, I have modified yellow and chocolate cake recipes to incorporate other flavor combinations to mix things up.
That looks great!
The cakes all look nice and yummy! Thanks!
I...can't remember the last time I really ate cake =(
Carrot cake and chocolate cake with raspberry-whipped cream filling/frosting are probably my favorites. I kinda like chocolate peanut butter pie better than the cake version (I actually tend to like pie better in general, unless we're talking about cheesecake haha).
oooooh... peanut. butter. chocolate. cake! That sounds DIIIIVINE!
the first looks too pretty to eat ;)!
they all look so yummy! :)
