First of all, there are so many breweries in Colorado! I had no idea before I came. There are also a few really good ones right in Denver. The Wynkoop was one of the sponsors of the
GABF, on each ticket to the festival there was a coupon for a free beer at the Wynkoop Brewery. We came here for an early lunch before the first session of the festival.

The Rail Yard Ale and Patty's Chile Beer. The chile beer was amazing! It was super refreshing and it had a very nice hint of spiciness to it. It was nothing at all what I had expected. It was great and definitely one of the beers that stood out to me during the whole trip.

We started off with an appetizer of soft pretzels. These weren't your typical frozen soft pretzels either. First of all, they were huge and they actually had flavor! They were soft and chewy and they came with 2 dipping sauces which included cheese and a dijon mustard made by the Wynkoop.

On the menu, they also had beer and food pairings for certain dishes, which was helpful, but I don't think we went with any of them.

Derek ordered the ribs and mashed potatoes, which later turned out to be a bad idea because of how full it made him.

I ordered the steak and cheese, which turned out to be really great and I ate almost all of it. The menu was pretty decent, it had good variety, but some of the prices were crazy for brewery/pub food. Upstairs they had a bar with a larger beer selection and I believe they also do tours since this place is also a brewery.

Looking at our GABF tickets in anticipation!
