My Top 5 Favorite Italian Dishes
I grew up in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn that's predominantly Italian food and people. One of my favorite cuisines is Italian and there is not one person that I know that doesn't appreciate Italian food. There are many scrumptious Italian dishes around the world and it's hard to just pick one and claim it's your favorite. Here are my top 5 favorite Italian dishes:
1. Pizza is definitely one of my favorite foods to eat because it's versatile, inexpensive, and absolutely scrumptious. I always love pizza from local pizzeria's because they ultimately taste better. My favorite kind of pizza is: thin crust pizza. My favorite styles of pizza are: barbecue chicken, mushroom, and chicken with tomato.

2. I recently fell in love with pasta with clams and bathing in white wine sauce. I would imagine that this dish wouldn't be hard to make, but I definitely want to learn how to make it.
This is great alternative if you're not in a mood for red sauce or any sauce made from tomatoes. It's been a few months since I last had pasta with clams and now I'm craving for it.

3. I've only tried mushroom ravioli once, but I have to say I fell insanely in love with it after my first bite into it. It's been about three months since I had it at Olive Garden.
I've only been to Olive Garden twice so far, but this mushroom ravioli was ultimately delicious. I've tried a lot of ravioli's, but this is my favorite. I love almost anything with mushrooms!

4. Tiramisu is an Italian cake and dessert that is made of lady fingers, dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of egg yolks and mascarpone and flavored with liquor and cocoa. I love tiramisu because it has a whisper of coffee in it and you know me, I love coffee!
A piece of tiramisu usually costs about $5.95 - $8.95 depending on where you get it from and a cake can cost anywhere from $12.00 - $30.00.

5. It's been a long time since I made chicken cutlets, but it's definitely one of my favorite Italian food because of the delicious bread crumbs and just smothering it with tomato sauce or marinara sauce all over. I generally don't like chicken cutlets from pizzerias. Anything cooked from home is generally the best!
What are your favorite Italian dishes?

Risotto. Especially wild mushroom risotto. I also love tiramisu. I've made tiramisu twice and it was devine.
i have never tried Tiramisu = (
This is really a list of old Italian American immigrant food.
Good nonetheless.
I would definitely have to list risotto on the top of my favorite italian dishes. Mushroom and bacon risotto, my oh my... what a treat! :)
my favorite would be lasagna, i think... but the ones you listed are really good too! :)
I love anything Italian. I'm 100% Italian so at my family gatherings we always have tons and tons of food and it's all so delicious :) I don't know if I can even pick a favorite.
Tiramisu is amazing! I recently went to Italy for vacation and ate my face off. Pizza Margarita was amazing! Spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna...gelato!
@osmundaregalis@xanga - Mushroom Risotto is yum!
@deemure@xanga - Oh My God! Lol you have to try it!
@daavidd@xanga - Thanks =]
@drunkdevotchkababy@xanga - Never had bacon in my risotto but it sounds like an interesting combination.
Trader Joe's sells portobello mushroom ravioli, and if the dish you ate was made with a cream sauce, you could easily prepare a similar dish at home (probably for less and a bit healthier) to eat on a more frequent basis than every few months. Because, really, who doesn't want to eat delicious mushroom ravioli multiple times in a month? hah
I make a lot of Italian style food at home, so it would be kind of hard for me to pick a few favorite dishes xD
Ah, that pizza looks nothing like Italian pizza :( it tastes and looks SO different in Italy.
@written_conversations@xanga - I want to travel to Italy one day and taste authentic Italian food!
CLAM SAUCE with olive oil, no cream necessary!!! I also love fish stew!
Excellent taste! Tiramisu is my all time favorite dessert.
