  • My Top 5 Favorite Halloween Treats

Halloween isn't one of my favorite holidays. It never has been and I've never been a fanatic for nor have I really dressed up for it. During my childhood I never really experienced the real fun that I'm sure all kids have of trick-or-treating.

However, I managed to receive candy and treats from school and neighbors as a child. My sisters used to give me treats on Halloween as well.  So with that said, these are my top five favorite Halloween treats:

    1. The sight of candy corn reminds me that Autumn is here and that Halloween is inching closer, because orange and yellow are seasonal colors and best associated with Autumn.

Candy corn is combined with sugar, corn syrup, was, and water. Fondant is also added for texture and marshmallows to provide a soft bite.

2.Smarties was one of mine and my sister's favorite candies growing up. When we were younger we always got them in our treat bags as kids. It was the best!

It's funny how my sister and I used to pretend we were power rangers and that smarties would give us more power when we engaged into play time. Kids think of the silliest things.

    3. Twizzlers has always been one of my favorite candies and M&M Peanuts as well. I always loved the cherry flavored Twizzlers more than the strawberry one which is always tough and hard to chew. A few years ago when my family and I went to Hershey's Park, I sure bought a lot of Twizzlers.

    4. I'm not a huge fan of lollipops at all except for the classic dum dum pops. I love dum dum pops because they're tiny.

In addition,  they come in a wide range of flavors such as grape, random, watermelon, sour apple, blueberry, and much more. My personal favorites have always been root beer, strawberry, butterscotch, and cream soda.

    5. My abosolute favorite chocolate candy is M&M peanuts! During Halloween, I would always get a small bag with a package of M&M's and cherished every piece I consumed. My friends have found pieces that looked like a heart but, I never did. I think it's cute when it's shaped like a heart.

What are your favorite Halloween treats?
