  • My Lovely Visit To Maroon Cafe

    Maroon Cafe - 638 Willow Avenue Hoboken, NJ 07030 - 201.222.4168

This past Sunday, my boyfriend and I made a visit to Maroon Cafe since we decided to spend a day in New Jersey. Maroon Cafe is no Starbucks but, it's certainly a great place. Maroon cafe serves great tasting coffee and a great quality of tea. Maroon Cafe is a mix of Asian Fusion meeting French in different styles of food and beverages. I found out about Maroon Cafe because one my best friends is an Assistant Manager and Barista at this unique cafe.

Maroon Cafe has a comfortable and homely ambiance. Maroon Cafe is one of those cafe's where you can find light and comfortable music, great food, bubble tea, and great customer service. It's too bad that in my neighborhood we don't have a unique cafe like Maroon Cafe because the only cafe that would be classify as comfortable near my house is Starbucks.

From the first time I met my friend, he's been raving about one of Maroon's most popular beverage the Twix latte. The Twix latte only comes in one size and costs $4.00. I'm not a fan of the Twix bar and if you aren't either, a Twix latte is a great alternative.

It was rather chilly on Sunday when my boyfriend and I went to visit him and the Twix latte was the first thing my eyes were staring at on their menu and so my friend made me - the long awaited Twix latte! It was chocolatey, lightly sweetened, and really delectable. It was like the perfect hot beverage for a chilly autumny day. I highly recommend this drink!

One of the great things about Maroon Cafe is that they have menu items called Sandwich Box Sets which are made fresh and daily and it's inexpensive, only $5.00. The sandwich box sets are served with a summer sweet fruit and salad but, side items are subjected to change. Since my boyfriend and I didn't eat breakfast we decided to grab breakfast here as well while we were waiting for our friend to finish work so we could all grab lunch.

My friend recommended the Miso mayo egg and gosh, his recommendations are always right when it comes to food! Any way, the miso mayo egg sandwich was on stone ground whole wheat bread, tomatoes, and romaine lettuce. On the side was shredded romaine lettuce, croutons, and grapes.

I'm not a big fan of sandwiches because I have this question in my head about how long have they been sitting around. I have this theory that sandwiches aren't always made fresh. However, the miso mayo egg was absolutely yummy! I never had miso mayo before and truthfully, it was great. Great recommendation!

Maroon Cafe is well-known for their most popular house made syrup such as toasted almond. They serve delicious hand made French style croissants and a variety of their famous 5 inch cookies. As my friend says, the whole cafe and block always smells like butter! If you ever find yourself in Hoboken, NJ and craving for a cup of Joe or maybe a freshly baked, buttery croissant - go on in to Maroon Cafe.
