My Love For Fat-Free Greek Yogurt
I've been trying to eat healthier (relatively) lately and have fallen head over heels with Fat-Free Greek Yogurt. I tend to opt for FAGE Total 0% Greek Yogurt since it's only 100 calories and provides 18 grams of protein!
I've found little ways to incorporate into my diet. Some days I use it in my smoothie in lieu of regular yogurt, some days I add shredded cucumber to make a modified yogurt-cucumber salad (an Indian dish known as raita) and on other days I just eat it with honey and fruits for breakfast.
The icing on the cake (I realize this a poor analogy for a post about healthy greek yogurt) is that greek yogurt aids in weight loss! A study in the International Journal of Obesity found that obese adults who ate three servings of fat-free yogurt a day lost 22% more weight and 61% more body fat than those who just cut calories.
It's not often that I actually love the healthy food that I feel so compelled to eat.
Do you like Greek yogurt? How do you prepare it?

it is okay not the best
Any food with the word Greek and fat free in the name couldn't possibly be trusted. ;-P
I love Chobani greek yogurt with fruit on the bottom. There are some good fat free flavors, like strawberry, blueberry, and peach, but my favorites are mango and pineapple, which unfortunately only come in 2% - still a pretty healthy snack though. :)

OH MY GOD :D I love Greek yogurt. So delicious.
Amazing ! I didn't knew earlier that Greek yogurt really is a boon for weight loss. Great fact. will try this healthy food now. Cheers !!
Yea you're right, healthy foods are seldom delectable. But if you find one then at least you need not to worry - hold on to it!
I LOVE IT. I just bought a bunch that have pomagranate seeds, yum, they're crunchy and juicy and the yogurt is sooo good with it. If I buy it plain, I eat it while drinking a cup of vanilla or pumpkin spice coffee so the flavors mix.
Honey Greek yogurt
Love Greek yogurt, but not the fat-free kind. Full fat only for me. :)
Chobani Greek Yogurt is the best if you ask me. The plain takes some getting used to if you eat it on its own, but you can always just stir in a little bit of vanilla extract to make it tastier :] Or just buy their vanilla haha my favorite! The blueberry is also really good. I swearswearswear by Greek Yogurt :]
I tried Greek yogurt for the first time a few weeks ago, and I will never go back to regular yogurt, lol.
@HollowTendencies@xanga - Me either! I tried eating a regular yougurt and it tasted so bad.
CHOBANI! I'm eating one RIGHT NOW with 2% and it's amazing. :) Addicted.
NOTHING IS BETTER!!!!! Especially with honey and blueberries or strawberries or both:)
Watch the sugar in the flavored kind, and I don't know about other brands, but Dannon uses HFCS in theirs. It's like, realy Dannon? Do we need crap sugar in our otherwise healthy food? But yeah, watch the ingredients lists. Glad you like Greek yogurt almost as much as I do though =D
I actually haven't had Greek yogurt, but the picture accompanying this post suuure looks tasty.
I just tried Greek yogurt for the first time a few days ago, and I LOVE IT. The thing I really didn't like about regular yogurt is it was so liquidy, but Greek yogurt is so creamy and delicious. A lot of people don't like it because it's more "tangy," but I prefer it. Yogurt + a little bit of clover honey = delicious breakfast.
I love Fage! I've eaten it plain but I think it's best with a little flavor, so I add honey, fruit or agave syrup to it. Chobani and Oikos aren't bad, but they don't taste as amazing to me as Fage.
I tried to like greek yogurt but the combination of sourness with the texture put me off.
Only downside is if you get the fruit on the bottom kind, there is a lot of sugar. And if you get the flavored, non-fruit on the bottom, it usually contains HFC. I should probably switch to plain and add my own honey, but I love fruity yogurt too much. ;_;
chobani is amazing. it's good enough and thick enough to make it into a light breakfast. and it's got that bit of tartness, so it's gotta have something to accompany it.
