Tea is the New Coffee...In My World
I am probably one of the few college students who doesn't drink coffee. I don't know what it is about coffee that makes me hate the taste. However, I could smell coffee beans all day long because I absolutely love the smell. Coffee-type drinks also do unusual things to me. One day I felt like being a rebel, so I ordered a medium sized (gasp!) iced caramel latte from Dunkin Donuts. About a little more than halfway through my drink, I started to feel light-headed and I wasn't exactly walking straight.
My roommates found this whole situation to be hilarious. I was so out of it from this medium sized drink. I mean, honestly, who has this reaction to a coffee drink? Needless to say, I will never be ordering anything other than a small. This is why I drink tea instead of coffee. My favorite tea shop is Teavana.
It's the ultimate tea shop. There are so many different flavors of tea, and since they only sell loose leaf tea you are able to combine flavors together to create delicious drinks. Teavana also has complimentary tea tastings throughout the store, which is great because it allows you to taste different flavors you might not normally try.

There are tons and tons of flavors to choose from like blueberry bliss, raspberry riot lemon mate, strawberry lemonade, and so many more. Teavana also has a drink bar where customers can order their favorite tea to go. One of my favorite combinations is blueberry and raspberry lemonade with ice. Since it's loose leaf tea, it is sold by ounces. Teavana is a tad expensive, but their tea is of the best quality and worth the money. Depending on the tea flavor, for 2oz it can be anywhere from $4.00-$18.00 and possibly more.

Teavana sells many tea accessories too. From storing tea products like tea tins to cast iron teapots. They also have rock sugar & honey, teacup sets, tea makers & infusers, tea kettles and more. If you like tea and want to experience a true passion for it then I would definitely visit Teavana. Check out the website for a location near you.
Have you ever been to Teavana? Are you a coffee or tea drinker?

Teavana just opened a store here in Louisville, and I've been by a few times. (It helps that the store is in a mall.) I drink both, mostly depending on whim.
And have you ever read any of David Weber's Honor Harrington books? The main character has the exact same feeling about coffee that you do -- she loves the smell, but can't stand the taste.
I can not drink caffeine either, it upsets my stomach and leaves me feeling lethargic and ill.
I LOVE COFFEE. However, I have decided my dependence on it was negatively affecting my life. Seriously. It's an addiction that just needed to be put on the back burner for awhile. So I've been drinking green tea usually in the morning. But if I need a pick me up in the afternoon I head on down to Argo tea (YEAH CHICAGO!!!!) It's the best tea spot ever (I think there's some in NYC now though. But it's Chi-town based). I get the carolina honey loose leaf. It's black tea with fusions of honey and lemon. MMMM It's so delicious with even more clover honey stirred in it. I've been spending too much money lately at Argo. But it's a lot better than Teavana, in my opinion. They're kinda tea snobs there. Argo is a little bit more relaxed and has a better menu (Pumpkin chai, anyone? How about an iced mojitea?)
I drink a cup of coffee in the morning and a cup of tea at night =)
I've actually had so much coffee/had a severe enough migraine that ingesting coffee has made me "high." It's an interesting feeling, but the crash is anything but pleasant.
chelsea market's tea salon!
@shes_lump@xanga - I love Argo too!!!
There is also some independent tea stores in and around chicago that I love to go to.
@purpleranger - No, I haven't. That's funny though. I loveeee the smell, but hate the taste. I have no idea why, but oh well.
@shes_lump@xanga - I haven't heard of that before. I'll have to try it out of day :)
@yoga_life_ends@xanga - you do realise tea has caffeine in it too, right?
@rachel - I would definitely recommend the series to you. The first book in the series is On Basilisk Station, but as I recall, Honor's dislike of coffee isn't mentioned until the second book, The Honor Of The Queen. Usually, the subject comes up in the form of good-natured teasing by her subordinates.
I like both coffee and tea, and I LOVE Teavana. I have several Teavana teas in my kitchen right now. My favorites are the blueberry bliss/lemon lime kampai blend (it's especially great for ice tea) and Azteca Fire.
I certainly love both. I am a complete caffeine junkie. Your med. coffee experience was absolutely because you're used to the amount of caffeine in tea. (Strange but it's a lot like alcohol in respect to tolerance). Thank you for this post! Tea 4 lyf <3 hahah, teavana is great. ps I am getting a tea cup tattoo :)
Never been there, but I've always been a tea drinker. =)
i love tea. i can't stand the taste of coffee. but it smells delicious!
I like coffee and tea. I generally go for super cheap stuff I can get at a grocery store, though. I could have tea for a month at the cost of one cup in a shop, and it's just as good imho.
Woah, if coffee did that to me, I would cut it out completely.. Coffee's been giving me stomach aches lately so I've been looking for alternatives. Two nights ago I stayed up all night studying for a test. I also had a cold, so I squeezed some lime juice into my water to help clear my throat. Interestingly enough it kept me REALLY awake when I was struggling to open my eyes moments before. It actually kept me awake more and longer than coffee ever did!
And speaking of fruits waking you up, I tried apples instead of coffee after hearing it could work from many sources...didn't work. Maybe it was the type of apples.
MY GOD THAT STORE IS HEAVEN
I LOVE both. Coffee keeps me awake, but sometimes when I'm sickly in bodt or mind, you just have to have a cup of hot tea.
I NEED TO GO TEHRE AGAIN. The store's really far away from where I live, but it's amazing!
I love both tea and coffee. But I used to have the same problem with coffee...I would get all dizzy and think I was going to faint and or die...now I don't, I just get really depressed when I'm coming down from it. hahaha.
Never tried teavana, but it sounds lovely.
love tea <3 coffee upsets my stomache :(
I love both coffee and tea but the caffeine in them does absolutely nothing to me. I merely drink them for the taste. As for Teavana, I've had their samples but never bought anything.
I'm so happy to hear you love Teavana! I work for the company and this is one of the first times I've seen a post about them! WOOT!
TEA IS MY NEW COFFEE TOO!!! Especially, matcha, persimmon tea, alfalfa tea, and wolfberry tea. I can drink only a cup or two of coffee but tea (mainly caffeine free), I can drink more than 3!
I use to go to Teavana, it was fun (expensive too and my mom gave me her teaset when she was stationed in Japan), but I can make my own teas and they come out just as delish! :)
@iamdriftwood@xanga - Aw that's a cute tattoo!
@WavesofNihility@xanga - Oh wow! I love it :) Amazing tea and I love the way it's decorated inside.
