My Favorite Pasta Sauces
Pasta is a versatile product to work with in the kitchen. I simply love it because you can mix and match with any kind of sauce, any kind of food, and any kind of way.
Growing up from a Chinese background, no one really taught me how to make "great" pasta so while watching television and experimenting with different sauces and different dishes, I'm able to decipher what are my favorite pasta sauces.
The mushroom sauce is one of my favorite pasta sauces because first and foremost, I love mushrooms! It's nice, chunky, and scrumptious! Sometimes I get creative and buy a regular tomato sauce and chop in my own mushrooms, mix it all up and make it extremely chunky.

My boyfriend introduced me to Marsala sauce because whenever eat Italian food for dinner, Marsala sauce is what he loves! I especially love it because there's mushrooms incorporated into the sauce. It is traditionally served with chicken and a bed of pasta.

I've never really experienced the rich flavor of pesto sauce until a dinner I had earlier in the summer with friends. Pesto sauce consists of crushed garlic, basil, and pine nuts and blended with olive oil and parmigiano reggiano. The first time I tasted pesto sauce, I instantly fell in love with it because the taste of it just really stands out.

I recently fell in love with Clams over pasta in white wine sauce. I've never tried the sauces with an alcohol content in it because I was afraid of what it may taste like. Needless to say, the white wine sauce is rich. I've had clams with pasta in a couple of Italian restaurants now and it's always yummy to dip my clams into.
What are your favorite pasta sauces?

Pesto and white wine sauce are amazing! Those are probably my faves. That and a simple meat sauce.
PESTO. Hands down. Sadly it's expensive compared to other pasta sauces...
Arugula pesto is a really great alternative to the traditional basil pesto too.
I love chunky mushroom-tomato sauce, too! Sadly, I use the jarred sauce, because of the expense of using chopped canned tomatoes, or even fresh tomatoes to have enough for the pasta would be too much. The jarred type is so convenient. I do like to dress it up, add a little ground turkey or beef and more sliced mushrooms. Yum. I'm not a fan of cream sauces, but on occasion, I'd have Alfredo sauce. The pesto is also delicious, but I have to be careful because sometimes nuts are added to the mix, which I can't eat. I'd love to try the white wine sauce, I haven't had that yet.
Mmm Pesto is so good! I'm a sucker for any sort of sauces, especially cheese sauces :D
@WithLoveFromD@xanga - I've never had a meat sauce but, maybe I should. Thanks for the idea!
I like pesto but then again I like making my own. My husband has his own recipe, so I let him make the sauce when we have pasta.
Pesto! I love all tomato based sauces for my pasta.
I'm surprised an olive oil based sauce hasn't been mentioned yet.
I love white wine sauce over tomate based ones.
Can't believe no one has mentioned this one yet...VODKA SAUCE!
And my favorite jarred sauce, by far, is Rao's Homemade. It's expensive, but totally worth the $8 a jar if you're making something special (I refuse to use any other jarred sauce as a base for my vodka sauce).
I don't have a favorite! I just love pasta and sauce in general! Mmmm!
@EJC102486@xanga - I've never seen a Rao's pasta sauce before. Are you in the West Coast? Do you think they may have it in the East Coast?
@goodeatings - I'm on the east coast. Rao's is actually
produced by a very exclusive NYC restaurant of the same name, so it
makes sense I would find it here. I live relatively close to the city
now (45 minutes by train) but even when I was in graduate school in
northeast PA (aka the middle of nowhere) I was able to find it at the
super Wal-Mart. Keep looking, it's worth it! :)
@EJC102486@xanga - I'll let you know when i find it lols
yummo!
ive never had pasta in white wine sauce. :OO
