The Benefits of Chamomile Tea
Chamomile tea is one of my favorite teas to drink. It's not just inexpensive, but it tastes good, it makes you feel good, and most importantly it's good for you.
Many people get stressed out and have headaches and instead of resorting to healthy tea like Chamomile, they refer to aspirin and other medications or things that aren't good for your body.
I drink chamomile tea frequently and it helps me a lot. I hope that after reading these benefits, you'll pick up a box of chamomile tea yourself.
Benefits of Drinking Chamomile Tea:
Chamomile Tea is well-known for being a sleep aid. It is known for it's relaxing and soothing properties and is often taken before bed to promote restful sleep.
Chamomile is helpful for a variety of stomach problems. It soothes stomach aches, eases the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, promotes elimination, and assists in digestion. It is often found in teas for digestion in combination with peppermint.
Chamomile reduces cramping and pain in the bowels and also helps to relieve excessive gas and bloating in the intestines. Therefore, a simple remedy is to drink a cup of chamomile tea to help relieve irritable bowel syndrome, nausea, and gastroenteritis or stomach flu.

Chamomile tea has been found to help relieve eye fatigue and dark circles. A simple remedy is to dip 2 chamomile tea bags in warm water. After 5 minutes, remove the tea bags from the water and let them cool to room temperature. Then place them on your eyes at night as a compress.

Chamomile has immune boosting properties and helps in the fight against colds due to its antibacterial properties
A dash of agave nectar or honey really sweetens your tea and plus both are good for you. Chamomile tea is one of my favorites because of it's fragrance and whenever I have stomach cramps, a warm cup always makes me feel better.
Have you tried chamomile tea?

It's supposed to be a natural antidepressant, as well! (And, relaxing ... it'll help you fall asleep.)
Funny you should post this, I have gastritis right now, and this is one of the things he recommended I use to help treat it. :)
I love chamomile tea! Have you ever tried honey vanilla chamomile tea? It's so yummy :)
It's tasty, but I recommend getting the really good, fresh stuff instead of the cheap, dried out, ground leaves. The difference in flavor is astonishing.
Interesting. I've only used it as a drink, very delicious. Now I may have to try the dark circles one
@rachel - I love chamomile as well, and that particular version is one of my favorites.
@WaitingToShrug@xanga -
I second that!
Personally, I order a lot of my stuff from Mountain Rose Herbs (http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/). It's fresh, sustainable, healthy and the staff are SO helpful!
Ok, I'm done promoting them now hehe.
But yes, I love the stuff and I try to drink it every other night and every single night when I am on my monthly, I usually toss a dab of Honey (haven't gotten on the agave wagon yet). In the cold nights of winter, a cinnamon stick does wonders in the tea!
@AllySantra@xanga - Hope you're feeling better! :)
@rachel - Yes I have, but it's hard to find sometimes unless I go to Manhattan to look for it.
no i haven't.
Better question: What are the effects each "popular" tea brings to the table? (green, chai, red, white, black etc.)Just be careful. If you have allergies to ragweed, you should try to avoid chamomile. It's in the ragweed family and has been known to exacerbate symptoms.

Yes, I know, I'm citing wikipedia, shame on me.
"Its not water, It's Chamomile TEA! One sip will make you super SLEEPY!" I hate the taste but love the benefits.
Overall being good for the body chamomile tea just tastes good.
Nature tastes amazing!
I adore chamomile tea! I drink it every night with and after dinner because it does help my tummy a bit! :)
I've never heard of chamomile being good for your stomach, I thought it was just for calming, but that does make sense.
im drinking some now haha!
Yep, love it!
A compress of the tea bag can be used to soothe an irritated body piercing as well.
@the_peach_assailant@xanga - Actually, I drink it quite often when I have menstrual cramps. It really does soothe the pain.
I've given it to my son since he was 3 months old. It certainly helps with his tummy :) I drink tea all day long, but I always love chamomile before bed.
I love tea :) I have quite a variety (though I need to restock!)
Chamomile is one I often have on hand. and for a variety of reasons. some of the ones mentioned above.
and like @WaitingToShrug@xanga - I enjoy it fresh if i'm using it for tea.
however, I love stocking up on the "cheap" stuff to use for other purposes (so i don't waste my good stuff lol)
I'm a bit surprised this wasn't brought up!
Brighten and enhance blond highlights
Boil two cups of water and steep six chamomile tea bags.
let it cool.
Remove the tea bags from the water once it's cooled, have the prepared tea in a pitcher or something with a spout that is easy to pour.
Wash hair and use the tea as a final rinse...
Put head down and flip your hair forward over a large bowl.
pour the tea through your hair, collecting the tea in the large bowl.
put the collected tea back into the pitcher and repeat the process a couple of times until your hair is well saturated.
do not rinse the tea out of your hair.
Squeeze out excess tea and dry and style your hair as usual.
you can repeat the tea rinse as often as you like and it will naturally bring out and enhance the lighter/blond tones in your hair (It is ideal to use on blond hair apposed to other colors).
it is FAR less damaging to your hair than using lemon juice and will not dry out your hair the way lemon juice will.
(I also have recipes for naturally enhancing red hair and brunettes. basically same concept with lemon-balm tea for red hair and strongly brewed coffee for brunettes)
too bad im not a tea drinker :(
i had this nasty patch of eczema that hadn't gone away for months. i applied chamomile tea to it and it disappeared literally the same day. it's magic :D
besides that, i grew up drinking this stuff and still do
