Southern Series: Tiffany's Banana Pudding
I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of bananas, but I love banana pudding. I feel like this dessert is always a must-have at potlucks and picnics and my friend Tiffany makes some of the best banana pudding ever. Give it a try! I dare ya.
You'll Need:
- 5 oz instant vanilla pudding mix (I used 2 of the smaller boxes because Wal-Mart didn't have the bigger box)
- 2 cups cold milk (if you get 2 boxes, you'll need 4 cups of milk)
- 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 16 oz of whipped topping (thawed)
- Vanilla wafers
- Bananas, sliced (she recommends 3-4 but I ended up only using 1. More room for pudding and wafers
)
1. Prepare pudding according to the directions on the package.
2. Mix in condensed milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
3. Fold in whipped topping (make sure you set some aside to put on top. I just wanted to mix all of the topping in with the pudding soo that's why it's not in the picture).
4. Let sit in fridge for at least a few hours or overnight.
5.When you're ready, you can layer the pudding, wafers, and banana slices however you want. (Make sure you give the pudding mixture another stir before you start assembling because the vanilla tends to separate. I started with wafers, then pudding, then bananas, and repeated.)
This is completely optional but you can either let it sit for a few hours again or go ahead and dig in. I personally like for the wafers to get softened by the pudding so it's totally worth the wait.
And that's it! It really doesn't take long to prepare and it's definitely a Southern crowd-pleaser.

My grandma makes the best 'nana pudding ever in life. I swear she puts crack in it or something. Addictive as hell.
The recipe I use is similar but involves cream cheese and no vanilla. Though I might throw some in next time I make it. Soooooo good.
I love banana pudding. The recipe my mom always made was baked, and it is always best warm out of the oven.
Yuck on the instant mix :(
im not much of a pudding person :(
