  • Feast of San Gennaro is Arriving Soon

Every September, I'm always eager to visit to Feast of San Gennaro located in Little Italy in New York City. The Feast of San Gennaro is New York's most biggest, longest, and running festival. It takes place every year in New York City around mid-September, lasting for approximately a week and a half.

The Feast of San Gennaro attracts crowds exceeding almost 1 million people during the 11-day run. Activities for the entire family and friends run a long Mulberry Street, Hester Street, and Grand Street. The streets are always decorated with festive banners, red, white, and green and arches (the colors of the Italian flag).

One of the things I'm always excied about is the street vendors who set up shops along the Festival Streets selling a wide variety of goods, merchandise, and the best of all international foods!

This is year the opening date for the Festival is Thursday, September 15th. On the first day, there is an Annual Cannoli Eating competition. There are a lot of more events taking place in The Feast of San Gennaro that will be taking place.

Many traditional San Gennaro foods from the street vendors are: sausage and peppers, fried oreos (I've tried these before, delish!), gelato, tiramisu, funnel cake, and a lot more.

Feast of San Gennaro is a great festival to enjoy with friends and family. I have already made plans to visit it with my boyfriend and best friends. I can't wait until I try out some of the delicious nom noms that they'll have this year.

Do you enjoy Food Festivals? If so, what is your favorite festival food?
