Passion Fruit Tea, Just Like Starbucks
If I had enough money, I would go to Starbucks everyday. My favorite drinks there are the pumpkin spice lattes and the passion fruit tea. Since it's not the fall season yet and it's still too hot out for lattes, I usually get the passion fruit tea when I go to Starbucks. The only problem of course is that this can add up if I went all of the time. Good news though! You can make passion fruit tea at home for less and there's no difference between a homemade drink and the Starbucks version.
You'll need:
- 2 quarts of water
- Passion tea bags (individual sized bags or the bigger filterbag works)
- sugar
- ice
1. If you have the box with the individual tea bags, just use boil 1 quart of water and pour it over 4 or 5 bags (depending on how strong you want it). If you've got the bigger filterbags, just use one and do the same thing.
2. Let it steep for about 10-15 minutes.
3. Take out the bags and add 1 1/2 cups of sugar (again more or less depending on how sweet you like your tea).
4. Stir tea until sugar is dissolved and add another quart of water.
5. Refrigerate and serve when ready. Starbucks calls this "shaken" iced tea simply because they put the tea in a cup with ice and shake it. Nothing fancy.
*If you want to make the passion tea lemonade, simply add about 1/4 cup lemonade to 8 oz of tea.
And that's all it takes.
What's your favorite Starbucks drink?

Oh man, I am so thirsty right now. 8U
I love all of Starbuck's iced teas (and those refresher things...I've only had the lime one, which is good, but have yet to try the berry hibiscus one...they were sold out the last time I tried to get one.
) My usual is a trenta black iced tea, sweetened (unsweetened is just as good!) I was so happy when they got the trenta size...I could drink buckets of iced tea. Just tell me where the nearest bathroom is and then keep 'em coming...
Pretty cool! I can't wait to try this one out. Passion fruit tea sounds tasty and looks pretty.
genius.
I love Starbucks! There was a time at my point where I went there 5 days straight, but of course I don't as much anymore. My favorite Starbucks drinks are: Black Iced Tea, Passion Fruit Iced Tea, Iced Chai Tea Latte, Pumpkin Spice Latte, and Hazelnut Iced Coffee.
Not hard to figure out LOL but I like passion fruit so s'all good:]
This is so Gorgeous. Nice refreshing beverage worth quenching your thirst !
@Fatal_Lightning@xanga - haha nothing like tea to make you go to the bathroom.
passion fruit iced tea, mixed with lemonade.... I use to drink this all the time at starbucks. =)
I love the unsweetened green tea lemonades. Yum I could drink them all day!
ooohhh!! this is sooo great! i love it! =)
I love their passion tea lemonades. Mmmmm.
I almost always get a green tea lemonade, sweetened.
Starbucks actually used to sell boxes of the iced tea. Instead of using multiple tea bags there would be one large tea bag for a quart of iced Passion tea. (: Now you can only find it at places like TJ Maxx and Home Goods.
Iced soy chai with one or two add shots. I've experimented with several flavours and it's pretty good with raspberry or pumpkin spice. Too bad I'm leaving the Bux soon because I'm sure this costs a fortune. Also, passion tea lemonade with raspberry is delicious. I'm drinking one right now.
Don't they use a syrup too? Their website has the recipe and what you need.
Definitely want to try this! I've never had iced tea before, I usually stick with fraps.
i was really hoping for a recipe that consisted of"real passion fruit". Oh well, good to know anyways.
If I could lock down Coconut Creme Frappucinos at home, I'd be in business. My nearest Starbucks is 3,425 kilometers away, according to Google Maps. Sad face.
I would actually really just like getting hot passion fruit tea... and making it myself. Starbucks is ridiculously expensive.
Smoothies? Yum!
Mummy would keep those Starbucks plastic cups and make her own frappucino and latte in them. Tee hee.
Refreshing and yummy.
