No Oven? No Problem. Bake Cookies in Your Car!
Even though the summer is slowly come to an end, outside temperatures are still pretty high here in North Carolina (can’t wait to walk to class in this heat). We’ve had plenty of days where 90-100 degrees was the norm. So what do you do when you know it’s going to be a scorcher outside? Why, you bake cookies in your car of course!
I know what you’re thinking, cars?! Are you serious? I guess that’s just taking cooking to a whole new level. Many of you have probably seen movies or television shows where they show people breaking eggs on sidewalks and watching them cook because it’s so hot outside. That’s what this cookie recipe made me think of when I saw it.
I found this recipe on Baking Bites and I thought I’d share it with you. You do have to set aside 2 ½ to 3 hours for baking, but if you don’t happen to have anywhere to drive to and don’t have a functioning oven, then utilize that heat! Plus I’m sure the baking leaves behind a delicious smelling car freshener.
Have you seen any other unconventional cooking/baking methods?

I saw that picture on People of Walmart.
We used to make sun tea. That's about it.
I'd be a bit worried of making my car smelling like cookies. :P
But then there's also the concern of the eggs going bad from being outside in the hot for too long.
Putting eggs or frozen pizza on the car roof. :)
Tee hee! I want to fry eggs and bake cookies in our car. And dry out some fresh tomatoes.
I think I've seen a previous entry on Ireallylikefood just like this one
That's the awesomest thing I've ever seen.
That would be pretty cool to try if I had a car.
lol energy saving lol
They won't smell so good if you left your dirty sneakers in the car.

aha, smart
whoops I didn't see that post
When I was a kid I actually fired an egg on my sidewalk...albeit it didn't cook all the way through..but it turned white (Imagine if it was on black asphalt instead!)
...SERIOUSLY DO THIS..SOMEONE DO THIS AND POST IT. It doesn't get THAT hot here.
...
This gave me the giggles. It's pretty awesome.
@gmgao - It's ok. A lot of people didn't see the post. Some things are worth saying all over again.
I think this is a great idea. I want to make teddy bear cookies!
Unfortunately, all I can see when I think about this are the eggs staying at an optimal temperature for bacteria growth for a prolonged period of time, and ants attacking the car. :/ I've heard of people cooking foil meals on the road though, somehow using steam coming off the engine (or something, I'm not that knowledgeable about how cars work).
I'm from Texas, so the last few months have been 100-115. I think today is going to be a lovely 110 and I'll have a bar-b-que on my front porch.
Hahaha... creative.
Haha.. genius.
