Indulging at Plum Pizzeria and Bar
I love Friday nights! I mean, who wouldn't? I love Friday nights because after the clock hits 5PM or 6PM, I can enjoy some self indulgence and the company of my boyfriend and best friends. Friday nights, are usually when I love going out to eat and and graciously welcoming the weekend.
This Friday, my boyfriend and friends visited: Plum Pizzeria and Bar, an Italian restaurant located in the heart of East Village specializing Italian style pizza and pasta.
Plum Pizzeria and Bar - 157 2nd Avenue New York, NY 10003 - 212.375.1319
Plum Pizzeria and Bar is right off of St. Marks Place and a lovely restaurant to come for a romantic date, a small group gathering, or with friends. I absolutely love the ambiance at Plum Pizzeria and Bar because it's trendy, casual, and alluring. The price range for Plum Pizzeria and Bar is moderate.
When ordering pasta, there are two prices for individual and family style because there's a difference in portion size. The pizza ranges from mini pizza, small, and large pie. Each with a different price and $2.50 for toppings, whether it's half the pizza or the whole pie.
Linguine Alla Vongole with manilla clams, garlic, and white wine sauce, family style: $34.95. I'm not a huge fan of oysters and mussels but, I do love clams. I've never had any dish outside of Asian cuisine with clams in it so, to try a dish with clams was pretty interesting.
I actually like this particular dish because it doesn't require a lot of spices and herbs for the dish to taste good. The clams were delectable and well-seasoned! The linguine was cooked to perfection, buttery, and simple in flavor. This dish didn't look like it was family style but either way it tasted amazing.

The pizza at Plum Pizzeria and Bar range in different prices. A mini pizza is $9.95, a small pie that ranges to 12 inches is $15.00, a large pie that ranges to 17 inches is $17.00. The toppings are $2.50 each even if you get it on half the pie or the whole pie.
We decided to get a large pie with mushroom and pepperoni. Since I love mushoorms and most of my friends do, we decided to get half mushroom and my other friend decided to get half pepperoni. I've never been a big fan of pepperoni. The pizza was impeccable and satisfying.
I've tried a good amount of pizza at various pizzeria's and restaurants but, Plum Pizzeria and Bar is the first where they toppedd the pizza off with some fresh and tasty basil. Basil is my favorite Italian herb and it really went well with the pizza when consuming it together.
The dinner was pricey but, it's always nice to treat yourself to something that's a little high class than what you usually eat. It's always nice to bring out your inner pig out to the table on a Friday night. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and food at Plum Pizzeria and bar and look forward to another delightful experience.
What do you like to indulge on a Friday night?

Food, drink and friends is definitely a great way to kick off a weekend, especially a Friday that is only 1/2 day before a weekend. If it happens to be a 1/2 day Friday, a matinee showing at the movies is great, too. The pasta and pizza look delicious.
Yum!!
I love that place, the other one you should try is Posto on 18th and Second ave.
This all sounds ridiculously expensive...
I'd rather cook my own pizza.Pretty pricey pizza. I like linguine and all those clams.
A good time had by all. Those dishes look marvelous.
@I_am_born_on_Earth@xanga - Thank you! I may return back to Plum Pizzeria and Bar!
I think the price is worth it.
