The Best Ravioli I Ever Ate!
On a recent weekend night, my boyfriend and few friends were aiming to eat at a burger joint until we found out there was no air conditioning. After my boyfriend and I scouted the place out, we later than decided with my best friend that we should just all eat at Olive Garden
It's been a while since we had a family style dinner and a really good Italian dinner. It was only my second time eating at an Olive Garden and I wasn't sure what to expect. Surprisingly, the experience was a delightful one because the customer service was great, the food was super duper, and everyone had a good time!
When I looked at the menu I was surprised at how their menu has changed and wasn't sure what to get. I saw Ravioli di Portobello, which is a portobello mushroom-filled ravioli in a creamy cheese and sun-dried tomato sauce. There were no pictures on the menu of this dish, but I didn't think it would be so bad. I was afraid it wouldn't fill me up, but it did!
I love portobello mushroom! I love pasta and I even began to fall in love with ravioli! The ravioli di portobello is simply the best ravioli I've ever had because I've tried spinach ravioli, beef ravioli, mushroom ravioli, and butternut squash ravioli but, they don't measure up to the fine texture, taste, and presentation as the ravioli di portobello.
I tasted a lot of cream and cheese in my ravioli, but it wasn't overwhelming at all. I like my Italian dishes when it's not overwhelming because I tend to have a problem finishing the food if there's too much cream or cheese. Surprisingly enough, I was the first one to finish my dinner and I mean every bit of it!
The ravioli di portobello has left a forever-lasting memory in my heart and a happy feeling that I only get from when I eat something superbly delicious and end up finishing every bit of it.
Is there a food that you've tried that you've just completely fell in love with?

i've had those raviolis and thought they were kind of gross actually. soo many better italian restaurants of comparable prices out there, its really sad that people keep going to chains.
if you really live in new york, i'm certain there are many other authentic (!!) italian restaurants that would be better worth your time and money. i'm sure you'll find even more delicious surprises!
@vain_apathy@xanga - Actually I do live in New York City and I've tried quite a few restaurants in Little Italy and sadly, not all of them lived up to my expectations. I don't always go to chain restaurants but for this particular Olive garden and this particular dish, I love it!
I don't care if it's "plastic" Italian food, Olive Garden is delicious for what it is. Except their chicken parm or lasagna, I just can't get behind them. But I love this dish, and the braised beef and tortellini. Omnomnom
Olive Garden is pretty darn good. It may be cheap and processed, but it works. We went to a place called Rotelli the other day... blew them out of the water. Really, any proper Italian place does. In fact, that was the last time I fell in love with some food. I got a stuffed calzone... holy cow, the thing was falling off the sides of the platter and stuffed to the point of exploding. You know it's a great meal when you don't even need sides... lol.
I'm from Texas..so it's either Olive Garden or a hole in the wall (which always is surprisingly good). They have wonderful Buitoni ravioli(s) in the grocery store frozen section. Everytime I buy one I get a coupon to save for my next purchase!
If I do go to Olive Garden, it's minestrone soup and salad!
I literally always order that, it's so good!
that looks incrediblee <3
mine was this mushroom risotto. omg it was sooo good.
Yummy! I love ravioli!
so hungry! hahaha. I want Olive Garden now. Thanks for the advice :D
I looooove that ravioli! I've tried it at other "fancier" Italian restaurants, and I haven't found better than Olive Garden! Yum yum!
Olive Garden for the win!

Yes, I agree, Olive Garden's Portobello Ravioli is phenomenal!
But to answer your question.. a rack of BBQ baby back ribs - those I am in love with. TGI Fridays and this place on Cape Cod has the best!
Before they changed the recipe, my favorite Mushroom Ravioli was from Romano's Macaroni Grill.
Love ravioli.
Never been there but I do love ravioli.. if it's well made.
I like ravioli with mushroom and with lots and lots of gravy!
Olive Gardens Pear and Gorgonzola ravioli with shrimp was amazing too. It was a limited time special where I was living at the time, but it was amazing. I was so sad to see it go.
