Restaurant Review: Limoncello at Robertson Quay Singapore
After spending years away in sushi land, followed by macaron land, I'm finally back to the little red dot on the equator where I call home. Eager to rediscover Singapore, I tasked myself with the mission to find the coolest restaurants on this sunny island. Join me on my food quest if you are a closet foodie at heart like me!
I recently discovered a newly established TopTable-like website, Chope.com.sg, which has not only a selective listing of the top dining spots in Singapore, but also an online reservation system linked to these restaurants!! I had a huge craving for Italian food and decided to check out Limoncello on Chope's list. A gourmet expert girl friend of mine was telling me how hard it would be to get a table at Limoncello, especially for a Friday night. Undaunted and thanks to Chope, I managed to get an instant table booking confirmation all in a few clicks at 3am on a Thursday morning!
Anyway, here's my review of Limoncello, named after the refreshing lemon liqueur mainly produced in Southern Italy. Before going, I've already heard rave reviews of this place and the fact that it was on Chope's highly selective list made me all the more excited. For a start, the restaurant is located in Robertson Quay, where chic restaurants and bars sit side by side along the Singapore river. Upon reaching Limoncello, I was greeted by a half-moon wooden patio expanse, which further accentuated the romantic ambience of its alfresco dining area.
With my lovely gal pal, we ordered:
Ravioli Della Casa at S$18.50 - Homemade ravioli stuffed with mascarpone cheese and porcini mushroom in light Parmesan sauce &
Carpaccio di Manzo rucola e Parmigiano at S$16.50- Thin sliced raw beef tenderloin with lemon and olive served with rocket and parmesan.

Antipasto Limoncello good for 2 pax at $39.00 - 300 gram Burrata cheese served with parma ham, grill vegetables and cherry tomato

I fell head over heels with Italy, when I visited Rome and Sicily early this year. Memories of the melodic Italian language, incredibly friendly Italians, impressive Roman architecture, picturesque Sicilian landscape and delicious Italian food are still oh so fresh in my head! You can imagine how happy I was to get to relive part of those beautiful Italian moments thanks to Chope. Not to mention that the above dishes I had were pure "foodgasm"!
