Last week I gave you guys a list of
flailing chain restaurants that are in danger of closing their doors. This week is a totally different kind of story. The results of a
national survey of chain restaurants have been announced, showing that America really does prefer quality over anything else (at least when it comes to fast food)
1.
In-N-Out: The fact that this West Coast chain refuses to cross Mississippi hasn't stopped the burger pros from conquering over all other burger chains. With their simple menu (Burger, Cheeseburger, Double-Double), delicious fries, milkshakes, and
secret burger variations, these guys are all about quality, even if it might take a little bit for your burger to get out. I practically grew up with In-N-Out, so I'm very excited that it made the top of the list in the burger category, but also sad that I now live in a place sans In-N-Out.

2.
Chipotle: Chipotle is my go-to restaurant when I can't decide on what else to eat. I always order the same exact thing (
carne asada burrito bowl, with pinto beans, all three of the hot sauces, cheese, and lettuce), and am always stupendously satisfied. I'm not surprised that it is the top chain in the Mexican category. There isn't a Chipotle in the country that isn't packed during lunchtime, so it's clear that this place has earned its place in the fast food chain industry and in our hearts.

3.
Chick-fil-A: I can probably count on one hand how many times I've been to Chick-fil-A, so I'm no expert on why this restaurant won the top place in the chicken category. I remember when I was in high school my friends would always hangout out there, and a few even had jobs there; but I wasn't all that into it. From what I remember the fries were pretty good, but nothing stood out to me as amazing, or worth going to repeatedly like Chipotle and In-N-Out. Nonetheless, it was pretty popular, and obviously still is among fried chicken lovers. I will admit that it's much better and probably healthier thank KFC, and they do have chicken noodle soup.
Which of these 3 chains do you prefer?

Chipotle is the best.
I've never been to an In-n-Out Burger before. There are only nine in my state (Texas) and they're all situated around the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Chipolte we have here in town, isn't my bag though. But Chick-fil-a is with out of doubt my favorite out of the three listed!
Chick-fil-a ftw!!
I LOVE In n Out.
sadly I haven't tried any as I'm not in the US, but now you make me really regret not trying some Chick-Fil-A when I had the chance...
at the risk of being a bit topic though, I did have a "five guys" burger open up here, but it wasn't as delicious as it was hyped up to be. maybe it's better down in the usa. (=
In-N-Out is way overrated. Freebirds>Chipotle. Chick-Fil-A is awesome though.
i've never heard of chipotle. sounds like qdoba?
I've never eaten at any of those places.
Mac Shack, ftw?! xD
@claritypeaceserenity@xanga - Theres a Five Guys down the street from me, and everyone raved about how great they were so I bought their over priced food and I wasn't all that impressed. =\
i love chick fil a. they need one in vegas. everytime i head to los angeles, i stop there. lol
yummmm In N' Out. those of you who don't have it where you live should totally be jealous :) even for a vegetarian their food is delicious! same goes for Chipotle <3
Love In N Out, too bad we no longer live out west. Chipotle is definitely my favorite fast food place.
I don't have any of these.
I don't like Chipotle at all. Their food and quality of service always sucked compared to Qdoba. Chipotle would have to be the last restaurant on the planet for me to ever want to eat there again.
The lack of Whataburger is disturbing.
Also - also - Torchy's and Portillo's. (Mixing Austin with Chicago? Oh yeah - I went there.)
Chick fil A is my favorite, hands down! I like Chipotle but I never tried In-and-Out yet.
I'm more of a Five Guys fan, but that's what being from the east coast does to ya.
When I'm out west at school, In-N-Out and Chipotle are lovely. Haven't been to Chik-Fil-A in years, though.
My favorite burger will always be Smashburger. Underrated, in my opinion.
@IllTroubadour@xanga - (I live in Texas too and I'm near that area as well) but I'm not sure if it's entirely worth it to drive that far up for a burger joint no matter how good it is.
OP:
I haven't had In-N-Out, and I don't care for Chipotle (haven't been there in many years) and Chik-Fil-A.
I love In-N-Out. Too bad they're selling out since it didn't stay only in California. I tried the five guy's burger and for the $5 i paid for a single, i wasn't impressed. I heard it's supposed to be all about the variations of condiments. I feels it ruins the point of having a burger with all the extra flavors and sides. Also, five guy's normal fries is $2.95 whereas In-N-Out is $1.45 (last i checked).
I enjoy Chipotle but i won't say i love it.
Never been to a Chick-Fil-A
Not sure I understand the Chipotle craze, but whatev. To each his own!
I have yet to go to In-n-Out, but they just put one a little over an hour away from me (in Texas), and I have friends that are willing to drive all the way out there, wait another hour or two, and drive all the way back....for a burger. I don't see how a burger could be THAT tasty, but to them, it's worth it! I guess I'll try it if there's ever one within a few mile radius. :)
well...regarding Chic Fil A at least the nuggets taste like real chicken as opposed to the ground chicken bits that are formed to create McNuggets
I've never eaten at any of these, or heard of the last one. I guess New England is missing out.
The only one that's even in my area is Chipotle, and I've never been there. Haha
@monkie_dance@xanga - The reason people feel 5 guys is worth the price is the AMOUNT of food. I have to order the smaller burger everytime I go because I could never handle the regular sized burger haha, and my family shares one regular size fry. They fill a cup inside the paper bag, and then overflow the cup so half the paper bag is full of fries.. worth the price to me. Plus I think it's yummy. To each their own, though, right?
