I work in Chelsea and am a big fan of Grubhub, the online food delivery and pick up ordering site. Since I'm pretty much stuck to a computer all day I don't really have time to actually go out, take a stroll, and find a good place to eat. So I rely on Grubhub to do the sometimes hard work for me.
Sirtaj Restaurant is right in front of my building. I obviously see it every time that I go in and out but never thought to order anything from there. I have to really be in the mood for Indian food, it's just one of those things. The other day, I caught myself dreaming about Chicken Vindaloo, naan, and samosas, so I figured I would finally try this place out.
I was happy to find it in Grubhub and browsed through their vast selection of curries, appetizers and daily specials. I chose their two meat special (chicken vindaloo & lamb korma) with naan for $7.95.
When I got my food I was starving and excited with the prospect of finding my new favorite Indian spot near my work. When I dug in, I was sorely dissapointed.
Although both the lamb and chicken had great flavors, there was hardly any meat in there. There were literally four small pieces of chicken floating around in the vindaloo, and three pieces of lamb with some potatoes in the korma. I had to fill up with the giant piece of naan.
I really hate when this happens, which luckily isn't often. It upsets me when restaurants cheap out like this. I went on yelp afterwards (something I should have done before) and noticed the same complaint from a lot of reviewers.
They have definitely lost me as a customer. Sirtaj better step their game up because the food is actually good, but nobody likes a scrooge.
Has this happened to you before?

Some restaurants cheat their customers. I once ate a pho with little meat and too much soup.
Why not just get vegetarian food next time?
I ordered from the same Chinese food restaurant I always do, and they gave me dry sweet and sour chicken pieces (a whole box of them) and a tiny bit of sauce. It was disappointing because they've always just mixed the sauce with the chicken and it was a perfect balance!
I would like to try different cuisines, though... Indian food, though I'm not a big fan of too much spice, and perhaps Sudanese
I don't like it when the food is a lot less appetising when served than on the menu itself. I'll give that restaurant a skip.
I very much dislike it when you order a meaty dish expecting some meaty goodness and all you get is a bowl of sauce and 2 shred of meat. I know meat is pricey in comparison to starches, but c'mon! If I were a restaurant owner, I would rather make a slightly smaller percentage of profit while selling lots of meals rather than a huge profit on a few meals.
I remember my first time with Korean Short Ribs. It was really tasty, but the short ribs were shorter than I am (I'm really short >.<) I wanted more meat, but I just figured that's what short ribs are supposed to be.

This hasn't happened to me too much in all honesty.. I suppose I'm pretty lucky.
But I'm a big Yelp Reviewer myself and I have no issue writing an honest review (be is positive or negative). I always try to give the place a chance to rectify what I am unsatisfied about and if they do a good job at that, then I'm set, if it's a repeat of the same issue, then I'll never go their again.
