Maybe I'll Like It This Time

After writing about foods I like cold and then about foods I like hot, it got me thinking about my other likes and dislikes regarding food. Then I realized, there are a bunch of foods that I always think I'm going to like and then I don't. So, I eat them often enough, but I actually don't like them much. Weird? I thought so until I started talking to my mom about it and she's got her own list. I also have a friend who continually thinks she likes jell-o, tries it, and then realizes she still hates it.
My list:- Peanut butter (also pb&j sandwiches)
- Romaine lettuce
- Ice cream
- Most plain chocolates
- Cantaloupe
- Pepper tuna
- Cinnamon gum
- Ginger
- Cracked pepper
- Pickles on hamburgers
- Trident Layers
- Sliced cheddar
- Diet Coke (I also don't like regular Coke, but I know that. I do like Coke Zero. Don't ask why.)
- Coffee or tea without Splenda
- Equal or Sweet N' Low
- Corn
Do you have any foods that you know you don't like but eat anyway? What about foods that you just can't make a decision about?

I do the same thing with jell-o!! I can handle the strawberry flavor but I always do something like "sure I'll have jell-o its so good!" Then I have like a piece of lime or some weird flavor and practically gag. I continually do that. I have no idea why.
why do u dislike ice cream?
generally if i don't like something, i don't eat it, unless i'm extremely hungry and in a hurry.
I don't like cinnamon gum, any type of pop, ginseng, chilli... some other stuff. I never really remember what food I don't like so I eat it anyways. Then I remember why I don't like it and choke it down or spit it out. Otherwise it's avoid at all cost if I do remember.
I don't have a list but I have those moments...
What is it with men disliking peanut butter? My fiance thinks it's gross. BLASPHEMY.
I can't think of anything, but I have my moments too, like T0m03 said. I could go for tapioca pudding right now, though.
Oysters. =[
Foods that I want to like and keep trying in hopes that I will like it: pickles, peanut butter, shrimp and all seafood (I don't try it though, I used to love breaded shrimp when I was a kid until I took the bread off and saw the orange and white stripes... idk why but, I've hated it since then). There's more but I can't remember.
Peanut butter must have been invented by women for women, because most men I've talked to HATE peanut butter with a passion. They think is the most disgusting creation under creation. I couldn't live without it even if I tried!!!! Weird. . .
i am the same way about cantaloupe...i literally just tried it for the like 176349763491th time at dinner tonight. hated it. again. what was i thinking. haha
I don't like anchovies but Mummy made me eat it because it's good.
haha i know what you're talking about:P it happens to me too with cinnamon gums, every time!:P i can also think of boiled potatoes, white vinegar, extremely chilly foods and chocolate milk..i think i'll like it this time, but no:P well in general i eat everything..:P
hahaha i have a few foes that i think i like but generally dislike, yet still try and eat them. sushi, ginger, cantaloupe and honey dew, fish, tomatoes, just to name a few.
canolies and tarimisu cake. I always forget how awful i think marscapone cheese tastes but i always think I'll like it anyway, maybe because it looks delicious.
I won't eat/drink: brussels sprouts, lamb, cola product that is not Coca Cola (other soda flavors are ok to have different brands), goat, dishes with organ meats like menudo, nuts because I'm allergic, white sandwich bread (ate it when I was a kid but now I prefer wheat even though I didn't like it at first) prefer my bananas not be brown in anyway (no spots). I used to hate onions and raw cabbage, especially if it came presliced in a bag, but now the fresh sliced has made its way onto my plate. I also mostly avoid the fruits in the wimpy fruit salad, like cantaloupe, honeydew and grapes with seeds lol. Grapes/grape flavored anything in general. I guess I don't like grapes (raisins included). The only grapes I will eat occasionally are the green seedless type. You mentioned cinnamon gum, I do not like that as well. In fact I think cinnamon should only be used in apple desserts, cinnamon rolls and in the streusel topping in coffeecakes/muffins. Other than that, yuck!
I don't like licorice. I have tried several times to develop a taste for it. The first few pieces taste more or less all right, but after that . . . YUCK!
And once upon a time, I liked root beer. For about a year or two, I really liked it. Then, for some unknown reason, I couldn't stand it any more.

@Turnmybeautyinsideout@xanga - I must be an exception to the rule, because I like peanut butter. I wouldn't say it's one of my favorites, but there are times when it's the only thing that can satisfy a particular craving.
@purpleranger - You, sir, are a rarity
I do that with coffee... and now I actually like cappuccinos. :P
I have a back and forth liking with coffee. Sardines are my main one. I think I LOVE sardines, but I don't/
Beer. I hate beer but I keep trying it.
It was sushi. I wanted to like it so bad and I would try to eat it all the time but I just couldn't stomach it. I think I tried enough because now I can eat some type of sushi, but I can't eat a lot of it in one sitting. Eel is my favorite so far, but I can only eat a couple rolls until I'm done.
Milk! Ive done it my whole life.
I'm not a big fan of green olives, but I eat them pretty often.
It seems that most people that I hear of that don't like peanut butter or chocolate...are men. No surprise there. Haha.
ALSO CORN AND SLICED CHEDDAR. Mmmmm mm mm m mmmmm <3
