Aphrodisiacs, Baby!
It is a well known fact that what you eat influences how you feel – whether that is fresh fruit making you feel healthy or greasy food making you feel sluggish. But how about food that puts you in the mood? Aphrodisiacs, as they are called, are believed to do just that.
Chocolate: Every woman’s favorite, chocolate contains anandamide (the “feel-good chemical”) and PEA (the “love chemical”).
Asparagus: Nicholas Culpepper, a 17th century herbalist, wrote that this veggie "stirs up lust in man and woman."
Almonds: These little tree nuts are seen as fertility symbols by many cultures.

Avocado: The word avocado actually means “testicle tree” in the Aztec language.

Bananas: Enough said.

Basil: Basil’s powerful and enticing aroma is said to draw lovers to one another.

Figs: This ancient fruit has been thought of as an arousing stimulant and its leaves covered the private parts of Adam and Eve in the Bible.

Garlic: This potent ingredient contains allicin, which has been known to increase blood flow. And remember – two garlic-eaters cancel each other out!

Oysters: This ever popular sexy food supposedly increases libido.

Honey: Sticky and sweet, honey is a great source of boron, a mineral that could help in promoting sex drive in both men and women.

Do you find these foods arousing?

Im not sure about a lot of these foods being an Aphrodisiacs, but some of them are fun.
I feel normal from all of these.
I love asparagus, honey, bananas and oysters! Bananas are great for skin AND foreplay ;)
The banana one made me giggle xD but I do love me some asparagus :D
I eat a crap-ton of those foods daily.
Still no libido.
all of these foods i love! :D
That oyster picture is actually somewhat disturbing for some reason.
although i love all of these foods, i have never found them to be aphrodisiacs.
honestly, working full time and being a wife and mother of 2 small kids (2 and 3 yrs), you wanna know MY aphrodisiacs? when my husband picks up the toys..mm, sexy. him making dinner and washing dishes?? ooh, i'm panting now! bathing the kids and putting them to bed for me? YES YES!!! getting the kids out of the house for awhile so i can have some alone time?! YES, DADDY!! I'M BEGGING FOR IT NOW!!! lol...sad, but true.
Chocolate never puts me in the mood. It's probably because I am elbows deep in it when I'm on my period. Otherwise, I try not to eat too much of it. The rest of the foods don't have that effect on me.
I don't really believe in aphrodisiacs... I think you would have to eat a crap-ton of something before significant chemical effects take place, if any. Maybe it works in placebo....
wow, this is really interesting!
I'll just use this as a lame excuse to eat chocolate. haha
weed is my aphrodisiac.
@tiptoplove@xanga - I second that
