Easy Recipe: Pizza Ball Bites
This is a guest post from Kirbie's Cravings.
Future Husband complained I made too many sweets last weekend and not enough savory items. So this weekend I made him some pizza bites since he really loves pizza.

I originally was going to make them to look like Totino’s pizza bites. But then I saw a recipe on Annie’s Eats, shaping them into balls and baking them together in a pie pan. The idea of pulling apart pizza ball bites was really appealing.
One of these days I’ll try making my own pizza dough, but for these, I used pre-made Pillsbury pizza dough. (Does anyone else hate opening the “easy” Pillsbury dough cans like me? I always make Future Husband open them for me.) I took chunks of dough, flattened it, and then added some cheese and bites of pepperoni. Then I sealed the balls up and placed them into a pie dish.
These bites taste really good dipped in a side of marinara sauce. They were so easy to make.
Recipe: Pizza Bites(adapted from Annie’s Eats)
Ingredients:
- 1 can Pillsbury pizza dough
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- About 14 slices pepperoni, cut into small pieces
For topping:
- Olive oil
- Italian seasoning
Instructions:- Preheat the oven to 400 F. Lightly grease a 9-inch pie plate.
- Divide the pizza dough into about 14 roughly equal sized pieces. Take one of the dough pieces, flatten it, and put shredded cheese and some pepperoni in the middle. Pull the edges of the dough around the fillings and pinch closed. Form into a ball and place seam-side down in the baking dish. Repeat with the remaining dough pieces.
- Lightly brush the tops of the dough balls with olive oil. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown. Serve warm, with marina sauce.

I am totally using your idea!
I would add mushrooms, and maybe use more than one type of cheese.
i think i have done this with their biscuits before. just randomly, not following a recipe. came out pretty awesome though!
hmm... this would be much easier than making pizza from scratch. i'd add chicken, mushroom, roasted sweet peppers or tomatoes, and maybe pineapples.
Sounds like a wonderful recipe. I will try that!
great idea
ground sausage.
I'd tell him to get off his duff and make some savory items himself! Those do look delicious.
Umm...I am DEFINITELY going to have to make these this week! I think I might make one set of pizza and one set of spinach-feta. And pizza dough is super easy to make, especially if you have a food processor. You put all the ingredients in, let it blend for about a minute, which kneads it, and put it in a greased ziploc to rise. Then, punch it down, cut it into pieces, and let it sit for a few minutes before you go on.
These look amazing and really simple to make! I'll give it a go :) also, I HATE opening those cans. The ones that pop, right? They frighten me :(
