  • My Top 5 Favorite Fruits

I love fruit! It's an easy and nutritious snack and I almost always have at least 2 servings of fruit a day. It can be hard to get a good variety of fruit in the winter, there's almost nothing that's in season. I usually stick to bananas, apples, and oranges. Spring and summer is where it's at. Oh, the lovely fruit that is available during these times!

The strawberries, mangoes, and pineapples are really starting to blossom at the grocery store, I love it!

In order, here are the fruits that I just can't seem to get enough of!

    5. Bananas

Even though bananas are what I eat most of, they are not my absolute favorite. Sure, I do love them a lot, but they are the most convenient and one of the cheapest fruits available. I prefer my bananas on the greener side, when they are just  barely ripened, that's when they are the best.

    4. Honeycrisp Apples

I eat apples pretty frequently too, but in my opinion not all apples are or should be treated the same. Honeycrisp apples are amazing! They are the perfect crunchy and crisp consistency and they have a sweetness unlike any other apple. They are usually a little more expensive, but they are totally worth the extra money.

    3. Nectarines

I love a good nectarine. For some reason nectarines always taste better to me than a peach. I'm not actually too sure of the difference between the two besides the skin, but I do prefer the nectarine. They are of course, the best when they are in season during the summer months.

    2. Strawberries

When strawberries are in season, they taste sooooo good! A strawberry out of season is a such a huge disappointment. Strawberries, like most berries are one of the lowest calorie fruits. My favorite way to eat a strawberry is to cut it up into sizable chunks and eat them with other berries in a fruit salad type dish.

    1. Pineapple

Pineapple is my favorite fruit of all time! It's juicy, sweet and has an amazing texture. Fresh pineapple is the best, but I still very much enjoy canned pineapple when I can't get the fresh. Ever try grilled pineapple? I am very much looking forward to making some this summer. Pineapple is in season now, so go out and buy a nice fresh one, you won't regret it!
